Museum Monday

We woke up this morning to some much needed rainy weather.  This made me happy because I'm getting old and find myself talking about how dry it is outside, and how my garden needs rain, but it made Buggy very unhappy, because it meant that we could not play outside today.

You know you're a Mommy when you ask for a membership to the Children's Museum for your 29th birthday.  And that's just what this Mommy did (thanks Da-ta!)!  Since it was "Member's Monday" we decided to start today!  When I told Bug that we were going to the Children's Museum she was very excited!

We met our friends there this morning and I can't remember the last time Bug had so much fun!  At first she just sat quietly and observed the other children with a silly little grin on her face.

But she quickly warmed up to the place and after about 10 minutes, we were both sweating from running around!  We played in the farm area for a long time, and I must document that there were LOTS of cow sounds and we did not have a meltdown!  She's certainly not a fan of them, because she still pouts when she hears one, but she doesn't cry anymore!  Baby steps I guess...

Then we made a stop by the Art Center where she got to scribble on the table for a little bit.

Next we made our way to the town where she loved climbing in the big ambulance.

She stopped by the "downtown" area to see if Daddy was working.

And then checked out the ginormous water tables!

She played in the sandbox for a long time.

Then she stopped by the garage for a tune up.

She loved poking her head through this fireball!

And Caroline like playing Peek-a-boo with her!

She ran around a little bit more and then it was snack time!

One of the perks of Member's Mondays is that they supply lots of yummy snacks for the Mommies and Kiddos and they even had story time!  Hailey enjoyed her lunch with "the girls!"
(Mary Michael, Bug, Caroline & Caroline)

Bug was not happy that Mary Michael kept eating her snacks ;)

Soon it was time to leave and say goodbye to all our friends.

What better way to top off a fantastic morning than with some delicious McDonald's fries!  As Hailey would put it, "Mmmmm!  (licking of lips: Smack, smack, smack)!"

  2. Looks like fun! I've got an additional "you know you're a mommy when..." ...when you look at your friends blog & think I wonder when we can visit them so our kids can play at those places together! :)
