Birthday Wish

For my 29th birthday tomorrow, my only wish when I blow out my candles will be for the upcoming year to be just as amazing as this year has been.  I am truly blessed.

Another Day, Another Museum

Since it was another rainy day here in Richmond, we decided to meet our friends at the brand new Children's Museum that just opened in Short Pump.  Our membership is good for both museums and it's a good thing, because we LOVED the museum today!  It's much smaller than the one downtown, but it's definitely geared more towards children Buggy's age!

Hailey and the Caroline's playing with the big blocks!  (Instead of stacking them, Bug preferred to bounce on them!)

Bug's favorite exhibit was the big pirate ship!

She spent a long time mopping the deck of the ship!

Then she came home and mopped Mommy's floors!

She went down the baby slide all by herself (over and over again)!

I tried to get her to sit on this cute throne for a princess picture, but there was way too much to explore...she didn't have time to sit still for a picture!

She loved digging in the sand with Caroline.

And really wanted to color some more in the craft room.

She even got to see the lady feed the fishies in the fish tank.

And she rode on this whale all by herself!

By far one of the most exciting things about this museum is the Choo choo train!
It doesn't really look like she was having fun in the picture below, but this was taken before the train started moving...she really just wanted down to explore then, but when the train started moving she had a blast!

Next we had lunch at Mrs. Annie's house and then it was time to head home and rest up for our playgroup this afternoon!  Being so popular can be exhausting!

Playtime Favorites

"What's up people?  I'm going to show you some of my favorite things to do for playtime at my house."

"This is me playing my new video game, and I LOVE it!"

"It's so much fun, that sometimes I just have to dance!"

"I also love tackling my lion!"

"I like to take him everywhere, even if he is pretty heavy, and even if it takes me a long time to move him, and even if I get frustrated when I can't fit him through my baby gate..."

"I also love coloring with my tub crayons that Uncle Poogie got me!  Mommy and Daddy say that I'm smarter than him because I know how to color with my crayons and Uncle Poogie still likes to eat his crayons!"

"I love it when Mommy makes lasagna, and I usually try to save some on my face, just in case I get hungry later."

"All my toys are lots of fun, but my favorite thing to do is play with my Da-ta!  He flips me all over and makes me giggle!"

 "I love you Da-ta!  You're the greatest!"

Museum Monday

We woke up this morning to some much needed rainy weather.  This made me happy because I'm getting old and find myself talking about how dry it is outside, and how my garden needs rain, but it made Buggy very unhappy, because it meant that we could not play outside today.

You know you're a Mommy when you ask for a membership to the Children's Museum for your 29th birthday.  And that's just what this Mommy did (thanks Da-ta!)!  Since it was "Member's Monday" we decided to start today!  When I told Bug that we were going to the Children's Museum she was very excited!

We met our friends there this morning and I can't remember the last time Bug had so much fun!  At first she just sat quietly and observed the other children with a silly little grin on her face.

But she quickly warmed up to the place and after about 10 minutes, we were both sweating from running around!  We played in the farm area for a long time, and I must document that there were LOTS of cow sounds and we did not have a meltdown!  She's certainly not a fan of them, because she still pouts when she hears one, but she doesn't cry anymore!  Baby steps I guess...

Then we made a stop by the Art Center where she got to scribble on the table for a little bit.

Next we made our way to the town where she loved climbing in the big ambulance.

She stopped by the "downtown" area to see if Daddy was working.

And then checked out the ginormous water tables!

She played in the sandbox for a long time.

Then she stopped by the garage for a tune up.

She loved poking her head through this fireball!

And Caroline like playing Peek-a-boo with her!

She ran around a little bit more and then it was snack time!

One of the perks of Member's Mondays is that they supply lots of yummy snacks for the Mommies and Kiddos and they even had story time!  Hailey enjoyed her lunch with "the girls!"
(Mary Michael, Bug, Caroline & Caroline)

Bug was not happy that Mary Michael kept eating her snacks ;)

Soon it was time to leave and say goodbye to all our friends.

What better way to top off a fantastic morning than with some delicious McDonald's fries!  As Hailey would put it, "Mmmmm!  (licking of lips: Smack, smack, smack)!"
