Easter and Early April Pictures

Easter 2015

The girls had a Palm Sunday service at church and they were very proud to tell us all about the meaning of Palm Sunday and Easter.  We also took them to a special tour at church called "Journey to the Cross" where we followed Jesus' journey from Earth, to Cross, to Grave to Sky.  We were all very moved by it. The girls filled out slips of paper and wrote their biggest fears on them.  Then they tied them to a tree and said a prayer, asking Jesus to relieve us of them.  They also made crosses afterwards and hung them up for the Easter Sunday service.

The girls enjoyed the activities leading up to Easter just as much as the actual day.  They dyed tons of eggs (three dozen to be exact!), had Egg Hunts with their classmates at school, and classroom Easter parties.

The night before Easter, Hailey and Lainey had major Easter Bunny phobia.  The idea of a giant, creepy bunny breaking into their house and hiding eggs all over the place didn't sit well with them.  But, that creepy bunny also brings treats, so they agreed to still allow him to visit, but they made sure to lock the gate leading upstairs, so he couldn't scare them in their rooms!

On Easter morning, they woke up bright and early, as expected!  The Easter Bunny was very generous this year, but he also left them a note taped to the stairs.  He wanted to make sure the girls understood and remembered the true meaning of Easter.

Hailey's basket was full of science projects, frogs and caterpillars.

Lainey's basket was full of Cinderella and Frozen Fever dress-up and dolls.

Avery's basket was a mix of Minnie Mouse, Dora and Baby Elsa.  And lots and lots of bubbles.  That girl LOVES bubbles!

Doug and I love watching them rush downstairs with excitement.  This time, Avery was booking it!  I had never seen her little feet move so fast!  After they chaotically went through their baskets, they rushed off to hunt for the eggs the Easter Bunny hid.

Avery's fast feet in action!

The bunny ate his carrots!

Easter 2015.

After a very early and exciting morning, we put on our Easter dresses (well, not Doug!) and headed to Church.  The girls loved ringing the bells throughout the service to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.  After church, we headed to Williamsburg to Aunt Kay and Uncle Ken's house for Easter dinner.  The girls had an egg hunt with Layla, and opened Easter baskets from Kay and Gigi.

Bells were ringing during our Easter service!

Bunny ears, baskets and blue candy covered mouths!

Uncle Poogie can't resist a good photo bomb!

Daddy caught the day on film.
Easter Selfies!

Comparing baskets.

Avery stayed with Erin for most of the day!  Must have been a redhead connection.

We had to make an emergency potty stop on the side of the road for Lulu on the way home.  I should mention, our house was only 3 minutes away...but she "COULDN"T HOLD IT!  PEE PEE WAS COMING OUT RIGHT NOW!"

Springtime in Virginia is beautiful and we have been taking advantage of the warmer weather.  Lainey and Avery have been spending lots of time on the playground.  Lainey loves feeling like the big girl, and she even taught Avery how to slide down the slide!

I really enjoyed being a Rainbow Parent for the day in Hailey's class.  She was so excited to have me there and it was great to see her interact with all of the girls in her class.

We're lucky to have such great friends in Richmond, and were happy we were able to see a lot of them this month!

The girls love playing with Owen, Ella and Hudson!

Lainey had her two best friends from the Red Room, Allie and Alexa, over for a playdate.  They played dress-up, mermaids on the beach, Barbies and beautyshop.  Avery had the best time trying to keep up with them!  She loves being one of the big girls!

Face-painting/dress up with Kaitlyn!

Gigi and Babu took all three girls for TWO NIGHTS! so Doug and I were able to spend some time together.  We had a few dinner dates, had friends over for a dinner party (and trivia games!) and attended a social for Hailey's school. The girls always have a great time playing outside, hunting frogs and bugs, blowing bubbles and just going nuts there!  I love that they always come home exhausted.  Dirty, but exhausted!

After 14 years, I still love going on dates with this guy!
