Thanksgiving 2011

What a great Thanksgiving we had!  (Insert cheesy line here)  I think that it was because we have so much to be thankful for!

We began our Thankgiving preparations on Wednesday, because we were in charge of bringing deserts and sides to our big turkey dinner at Gigi and Babu's house.  Bug was a big helper!

While the magic cookies bars and other tasty treats were baking, Buggy perused one of the gagillion toy magazines that came in the mail that day.  She decided that she wanted a boucy house.  Hmmm.  Not gonna happen!

On Thursday, we woke up around 7am and by the time we had everyone dressed, packed and fed, it was already 11am! So we hopped into Pearl, hit up Starbucks for a festive Gingerbread Latte, and then drove to Gigi and Babu's house.  It wouldn't be a holiday with my family if a few pictures weren't incorporated into the agenda somehow!

While the turkey was baking, the girls went for a stroll around the neighborhood.

Buggy loved playing in the pile of leaves that Gigi made for her!

Bug was very excited to see Babu!

After all that outdoor play, it was time to hit the snack tray.  Hard!

Then she became engrossed in a "Curious George Christmas Special!"  She watched it from start to finish while we were getting dinner ready!  FYI, she pushed her chair up that close to the tv, not me!

Time to eat!!  Lainey napped through half of Thanksgiving dinner.  She made her grand appearance closer to desert time!  (That's my girl!!)

Working off some that food with a little tummy time!

And as usual, the women get stuck cleaning up, while the men zonk out in turkey comas!

Buggy had a long day and was ready for an early bedtime!  She crawled into Gigi and Babu's bed, and started to watch the same Curious George Christmas Specail.

10 minutes later...

By far, the best Turkey Day ever!  Now, I am offically taking a "Blog Break" for a few weeks because, in the next 3 weeks I have to:

1) MOVE!!! (pack, unpack, decorate, buy furniture, change our address with a million different things)
2) Buy and address and mail Christmas cards...after I finally get around to taking a decent Christmas picture!
3)  Buy and wrap Christmas presents for everyone!!!  Sorry Peeps!  There are going to be lots of gift cards to unwrap this year!  No time to be creative or thoughtful!!
4) Decorate for Christmas.  If you know me, you know that I would have already had my tree up a week ago!!
5)  Take care of 2 sick kids.  Yes.  We're still sick!!  Lainey is one miserable little baby right now!! :(
6)  Try to maintain my sanity.

It's going to be a busy couple of weeks, and that is probably a good thing, because otherwise, I would be a crying, sobbing mess!  I brought both of my babies home from the hospital to this little house, and it's going to be hard to say goodbye to it.  (Miss Buggy sure is going to miss her window, aka "stoop").

Next time, I'll be blogging from our new house!!

We're Sick. Yes, Again!

Two ear infections, one bad cold, croup and now we're sick...again!  This has been one nasty month for Ms. Buggy.

She woke up and looked at me with those sick eyes, and I knew we were in for another bad week.

She only gets to sleep in Mommy's bed when she's sick.  (and I secretly love it!!)

Waiting in the Patient First waiting room on Sunday morning.

After some Tylenol and ear numbing drops, she was ready to fix her "baby Wainey's boo boo's" too!

She seems to be feeling better (fingers crossed!) so I sent her to preschool today and she came home with a very festive "tanksgibing" craft!

Showing Lulu her marker masterpiece from preschool this morning.  Note the lollipop hanging from her mouth.  A bribe to get her to take the pictures above!

Bug has been all about writing her name lately.  I must say, she's pretty good at it!  Her "H's" are perfection!

Lulu has been all about her pears lately!

My poor, sweet baby is teething and hasn't been her happy self.  Instead of smiling 100% of the time, it's been more like 85%!

Bug loves encouraging her sister while she's trying to roll over!

Happy early "Tanksgibing!"
