Maymont

Spring is here and it was the perfect day for a trip to Maymont.  Buggy met her friends Caroline and Wingrove at the petting zoo to see the animals and have a yummy picnic lunch among the blooming flowers.

This picture does a great job of capturing what my life has been like lately chasing my spirited 2 year old around.  She seems to be enticed by "do not enter" signs and dangerous stairs. And loves climbing on practically everything, as well as sprinting away from me as fast as her little bouncy legs will let her.  I'm sure I was a sight for sore eyes waddling around the petting zoo chasing after my toddler all morning (while all the other children stayed close to their Mommies, quietly petting the sheep and goats)!  Sigh.  I wonder what that's like...

I'm pretty sure her mouth remained open in awe the entire time we were there!

She was shockingly brave when it came to petting the animals.  She didn't hesitate one bit and walked right up to them!  She was practically trying to crawl in between the openings in the fence to get to them (while loudly calling out the animals name and respective animal sound!)  I'm sure the goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks and bunnies are going to need some therapy after our visit!

She really liked feeding the animals, but only wanted to give them one tiny piece of grain at a time!  This of course frustrated the poor animals, but entertained Buggy!

After we managed to pet every animal in the zoo, and 3 full bottles of hand sanitizer later, we sat down for a picnic lunch.

After lunch, Hailey and Caroline decided to do some exploring around the gardens.  They also managed to do a little pruning of the flowers at the same time!

I asked Bug to smell the pretty red flower....

...but she of course, having a mind of her own, decided that biting it would be more exciting!

It was a perfect (and exhausting!) morning!!
