As Good As It Gets

We spent most of this cold day laying low at the house and ended up having a fantabulous day!

Bug spent lots of time showing off for Mommy in her playroom.

She's recently warmed up to the rocking horse that Uncle Poogie got her for Christmas.

And she was especially proud of her "no hands" riding skills!

A new holiday calls for a new seasonal balloon from Kroger!

The cold, wet weather put me in a baking mood!  We spent the afternoon making stuffed shells for dinner and cupcakes for desert.  Of course I had to let my helper sample some of the final product!

A mouth full of cupcake didn't stop her from loving on her babydoll!

The new nursery is starting to come together and yesterday we got our fabulous glider from Grandma and Grandpa Kinard.  It's AMAZING and I think Buggy shares my same love for it!

Lunchtime came and it was time to wait for Daddy at the window!

Kisses for Daddy!

She knows that if she gives Daddy hugs and kisses, she'll get flips, slides, tosses and tickles in return!

She's discovered how fun stickers can be and has been putting them on everything lately!  Today, Daddy was the lucky recipient of most of them!

Mmmm!  Easter candy!

After lots of playing with Mommy and Daddy and scarfing down way too much sugar for one day, Buggy ran around like a wild donkey for a little bit longer.  Then we both took nice long, rainy day naps.

Today was about as good as it gets!

Feeling the Pressure

With Hailey's sister due in less than 14 weeks, I've really been feeling the pressure of "popping" out another sweet girl as perfect as Buggy.  This poor second child is going to have some pretty spirited, spunky and absolutely adorable shoes to fill!

We had a fantastic day today, with a relaxing morning with Daddy, a trip to Target for some groceries, long afternoon naps and a much needed (and overdue!) playdate with Caroline H. and her mommy, Lauren.  I'm so thankful to have found such an awesome friend, and fellow preggers, to spend my afternoons with!

(Can you believe I didn't even think about taking pictures during our playdate?!  you know the mommies were in "good gossip mode" when that happens!)

We also had another fun playdate with Robert and his mommy yesterday, and Buggy made sure to stay fully clothed during the entire playdate this time!

Before "Bee Ba" showed up, Bug helped me finish my new favorite indulgence.  A Chick Fil A banana pudding milkshake.  Heaven!

Robert was less than enthused about playing Princess Tea Party with Buggy.

And Bug wasn't too happy when Robert decided to take her toy laptop from her!

We eventually got it back and the crises was resolved.

They practiced taking care of the baby since they are both going to have a new sibling this summer.  (Bug is attempting to give "the baby sister" kisses so she can go night-night.)

I'd say we need to work on our baby handling skills.  Otherwise, her sister is going to be seriously injured within the first week!

Bug is already practicing calling "Bee Ba" so she knows what to do when they're teenagers!

She was very proud of the tower that she built this afternoon!

And she's been acting like her belly button is the most fascinating thing she's ever seen!

We sure did luck out with this little girl, and I'm just hoping that my grandma isn't right, and Buggy isn't my only "good child" and my next one isn't going to be my "difficult one!"

Home Sweet Home

To quote Buggy's wise Great Gran-Gran (and best buddy, EVER!) "You know you're getting old when you miss your own bed when you're on vacation" and "when it takes you a whole week to recover from your trip."  Well call me old then, because my bed has never felt cozier and we are just now coming out of our post-vacation fog.  I'm beginning to learn that a vacation is never really a "vacation" when you have children, but more like a "relocation!"  We had a blast in Florida and loved spending time in the warm sunshine with our family, but it sure is nice to be home too!

In the past week, we've only left the house twice!  Once, to go to my second home, Kroger and then to visit Babu, Uncle Poogie and the crazy puppies because Buggy wouldn't stop asking about them.  And we've only gotten out of our jammies once!

Buggy missed her Daddy terribly and has been treating me like chopped liver ever since we got home and she saw her favorite guy!  (And that's just fine with me!  He's my favorite guy too!)

He's been the lucky recipient of endless Buggy hugs and kisses!

Bug was happy to get back into her morning routine of waking up with "milks" (milk) and a "bite" (nutri-grain bar), watching her "show" (usually Dora), and waiting for the "kool bus" to show up outside our house at 8:08am.

Daddy has been her favorite playmate this week and she's been in hog heaven!

Yes.  He's really doing a headstand! And she thought it was amazing!  I must admit, I was pretty impressed too.  Is there anything this guy can't do?

Tickle Monster!!

"Bee-ba" (aka Robert) came over this weekend and Hailey was smitten!  I at least took a shower for them, and it was my one attempt to get Bug dressed during the week...although, she only remained partially clothed throughout the playdate.  Who can blame her though?  After spending an entire week in your pj's, who would want to put on actual pants?!  That is one of my favorite things about being pregnant (and there aren't many!)-the fact that it's completely acceptable to live in comfy sweats and t-shirts for 9 months! That and the constant eating...of everything!

Since we've been back, the weather has all of a sudden turned cold again!!  It even snowed here today!!  Snow?  Really?!  But we've been content to just sit around our house and play in the playroom.  Because she's been away from her toys for a full week, they all seem new to her again and she even played quietly in her playroom while I watched a cheesy "Chick Flick" on the couch in the living room!

Her toy of choice today was a Dora the Explorer fruit snack in the shape of "the Map."  She's been bouncing him all over the house yelling "MAP" and even took him for a ride in her Cozy Coup!

This week has been refreshing getting caught up on our rest and "Mommy/Buggy" snuggle time, but we're ready to get back into our typical playdate packed weekly routine!

I love Sunday nights now!  Have a happy Monday!
