I'm typing this blog post feeling so relaxed and missing my new favorite place, EVER! Ahhh The Homestead. Hands down the most beautiful place I've ever been (and I've been to England, Costa Rica, Turks and Cacaos...you get the idea). Just when I thought I couldn't love Virginia any more, the Lord sent us to Bath County, in Hot Springs, Virginia. Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Virginia lies this little jewel of a place. It was was built in 1766 and had the charm and luxury to prove it! Three golf courses, horseback riding, hiking, an amazing spa, hot springs and baths, pools and a bowling ally are just a small portion of the things you can do here! We are, without a doubt, going back, soon.
An impromptu family photo before we left for the weekend.
Buggy with her Granny Nanny. Thank GN for babysitting!
Crossing the street to play at the park while we were leaving. Yes, I cried in the car.
There she is, in all her splendor!
This was a cute town right outside The Homestead. We walked here and picked up (a few) bottles of Virginia wine!
There were hayrides around the property that ended with s'mores by the campfire.
A squinty picture of me.
A "few" pictures of us exploring the grounds. This of course was after we had an hour long massage, followed my another hour sitting in the steam room and relaxing in the spa sipping tea. After our exploration photo shoot, we had dinner in a five star banquet room and danced the whole night!
There was a beautiful wedding while we were there.
I loved this breezeway to the spa. It was so peaceful.
There were so many beautiful gardens there.
Doug got a little "snap happy" taking pictures of me.
They had free Starbucks coffee!
There were hot springs and baths all around. The springs were covered by gazebos and the baths were in bath houses. Kings and Queens bathed in then and 22 US presidents have stayed there.
They had corn hole!
This was just the lobby!
It had an amazing pool!
And a bowling ally!
This was the view from our room.
Pictures of our room.
By far, the best birthday weekend, ever! Thanks Doogle!
WOW! At least I can say I've seen it in real pictures now. (Will probably be the closest I ever get!) So glad y'all had such a great time.
ReplyDeleteI'd be willing to bet your mama had every bit as much fun as you did!
