Easter Week 2016
Journey To The Cross
It's very important to us that the girls know what this AWESOME season is all about! That's why we've made Journey to the Cross at our church an Easter tradition. This year the girls wrote down one of their sins and nailed it to the cross, thanking Jesus for emptying himself of his glory for us and our sins. And yes, I cried. Not surprising for me, I know, but it was one of my favorite "Mommy mental snapshots." If I do one thing remotely right as their Mama, I hope it's to help them know how infinitely beautiful and amazing our God is.

| Walking into His crucifixion. |
| Writing down a sin... |
| ...and nailing it the cross. |
| The tomb is empty! |
| Making crosses to display on Easter Sunday. |
| They added Jesus to their crosses. |
| Painting a banner for the church. |
| Two of my favorite blessings. |
Easter Eve
| Dying eggs! |
| Busy bunnies! |
| One of their favorite things to do this month was to play with our Resurrection scene. |
| Doug and I nearly cried when we saw these pictures they made one morning in the playroom. I think they really get it. |
| They were that meaningful... |
| Leaving some treats out for the Easter Bunny! |
| Lettuce, carrots and a saucer of milk! |
| Because it's not just about bunnies and candy... |
| Hailey read her sister The Story of Jesus. |
Easter Morning
| The Easter Bunny came! |
| He filled Hailey's basket with frog eggs stuffed with frog tattoos, necklaces and frog stickers, a frog shirt, undies and socks, candy and science projects! |
| He filled Lainey's basket with lambie eggs stuffed with mini lambs and lamb tattoos, lambie jammies, socks and undies, candy and dolls. |
| He stuffed Avery's basket with teddy bear eggs filled with tattoos, stickers and chocolate, kitty jammmies, candy and princess bath toys. |
| He was hungry! |
| This is what hiding eggs for kindergartners and preschoolers looks like! |
| Daddy was volunteering at church that morning, so we had to wake the girls up at 6am. |
| It was rough for everyone... |
| Fortunately, when they remembered that it was Easter morning and that the Easter Bunny was supposed to come, they perked right up! |
| That silly bunny left a trail of Sour Patch Kids from their room down the stairs! |
| Headed down to see what all the excitement is about! |
| The bunny was here! He ate his treats! |
| Avery spotted the Easter baskets first! |
| And off they went! |
| Comparing baskets. |
| They look pleased with his picks! |
| Lambie eggs! |
| Ariel toys! |
| Hailey found a frog necklace in one of her frog eggs! |
| Lainey found tiny lambies in her lambie eggs! |
| Lambie jammies??!! If you ask me, the Easter Bunny NAILED it this year! |
| Ready to hunt eggs! |
| Two girls were a little better at finding the eggs... |
| Which made this one very unhappy! |
| Sweet Lulu gave Avery some of her eggs. |
| This is what breakfast looked like that morning! Don't judge! I was on Easter duty by myself that morning! |
| Lulu in a basket. |
| She used to fit in there much easier!! Whaaaaaa!!!! :-( |
| Daddy came home from volunteering to play with some new Easter toys before we headed to church. |
| The girls were excited to see the crosses they made on display outside the Sanctuary! |
| We had a great service and Hailey and Lainey came to "big church" with Mommy and Daddy. They loved ringing the bells every time they heard the word hallelujah! I'm not sure how much they paid attention, but I like to think that something sank in while they listened to our amazing pastor speak! |
| Home from church and ready to head to Williamsburg for Easter Round #2! |
| Thanks for the dresses Grandma Kinard!!! |
| This is what happens when you feed your kids Pez and chocolate bunnies for breakfast! |
| It was a long morning for them! Avery was smart and took a power nap on the way to Williamsburg. I was very jealous. |
Easter Dinner in Williamsburg
| The girls were so excited to see Layla! |
| Mini Mommies!! Double Trouble!! |
| Helping with the dishes! |
| They headed straight for the dressup! |
| They even put on a fashion show! |
| Layla, looking very fancy! |
| Avery had fun snuggling with her boys. First Babu... |
| Then Uncle Poogie! |
| Silly Uncle Poogie tried to eat some of Lulu's candy necklace! |
| Easter dinner at the kiddie table never looked any cuter! |
| Egg hunt round #2! She was on a mission! (some of these eggs were stuffed with MONEY!) |
| Poogie hid one in his shirt, but couldn't get that past smart Hailey Grace! |
| Checking out their loot! |
