I have been loving my afternoons with my middle child. My sweet, snugly, *motherly, deep voiced, Mama's girl, Lainey Brooke. From 12:30-2:30pm, after she gets home from preschool, while Hailey is still at school, and while Avery is taking her nap, Lainey and Mama have our special time. And during those two hours, she talks, and talks, and talks, and doesn't ever seem to stop to even catch her breath! She tells me about her day in the Red Room, who was naughty in her class and what stories she read, she tells me about her best friend Alexa and what they played that day, she talks about her many ailments (it's always something...her little baby toe hurts, her legs are tired, her "bone in her tummy hurts," or her "baby in her belly hurts" or she's "a little bit sick today"...), and we play. A lot. We dress up, play dollies, play Frozen on Ice, act out the movie Frozen, read stories, snuggle on the couch and sometimes (ok, once!) we took a nap! I'm so thankful for this special time with my special middle daughter. Out of all three of my girls, she's the one that demands needs that time with her Mama the most, and with an energetic, high spirited big sister and a spunky, needy baby sister, poor little Lulu can sometimes get lost in the chaos. I will forever cherish my afternoon with Lulu.
*(Lulu is our Mother hen. She's by far our most nurturing, empathetic child. She's going to be the one to look after her sisters when they get older. She will be the one to cover for Hailey when she gets a tatoo and for Avery when she sneaks out of the house when they're teenagers...Lord help us!)
| We love our afternoons together, but these three are inseparable when they're together! |
