We've had so much uncertainty and chaos in our lives over the past few months, and it feels so nice to finally be living our "There" moment. We're settled in our new home and we've all simultaneously let out an enormous sigh of relief.
Life out in the "county" has been picture perfect so far. Our neighbors continue to shower us with meals, treats and warm welcomes. We only moved 4 miles away, but life just seems happier and more relaxed here. The girls are adjusted to their new rooms and have been taking full advantage of all of the extra space we have in our house now as well as the awesome parks within walking distance from us.
Over the past few weeks the girls have been busy winding things down and getting ready for "summer mode." We had a great time at Sophie's birthday party with good friends and at baby Layla's first birthday party with family.
Hailey finished up her gymnastics class with an adorable "Spring Fling" performance, ended Soccer shots with a medal and both girls closed out the school year with cute class picnics and performances.
Now we're looking forward to the lazy months of summer, relaxing in our new home and spending lots of time across the street at the pool and playground. And most of all, we're looking forward to meeting our new baby girl at the end of the summer.
Monthly recap in pictures:
We're all loving all of the extra space that we have in our new house. The girls love to play chase all over the house! |
The girls also love looking out the window and saying "hi" to all of the children, walkers, tennis players and dog walkers. They would spend all morning there if I let them because everyone always waves back and says "hello." The girls get so excited about that. |
Sassy Ms. Bug showing her school spirit for Spirit Week. |
Lunchtime. |
Hailey has been all about birthdays ever since her party. She loves wrapping things up, singing and pretending it's someone's birthday. |
Lainey, giving her babies a diaper change. |
She is so gentle with her baby dolls. It's the cutest thing to watch. |
The girls on our back porch. Hailey was proudly showing off one of her many inchworms that she collected. |
Hailey is so fascinated with Bugs! I'm so glad that inchworm season is over because she wouldn't stop collecting them! |
Bug, with her bugs. |
Mommy, 5 months pregnant, and Daddy before church. |
Yep. This picture just about sums up Lulu's personality!!! |
She's a spunky one! |
Blowing bubbles with Gigi in our backyard. |
I love that I can just open up the backdoor and let the girls run outside and play by themselves! Our yard is safe, fenced in and I can keep an eye on them while I'm making dinner, or more often, laying on the couch watching Bravo in the air conditioning! |
Playing in the clubhouse with Gigi. |
These two sure do help keep this preggo in shape! |
Hailey was going on an "adventure" in the backyard. Apparently this adventure required rain boots, a medal, binoculars and a bug net. I didn't ask. |
We broke out the water table for the first time and the girls loved it! However, they progressively got more and more naked as time went on... |
First is was the shirts... |
Then it was the pants and undies... |
And the obvious next step was to soak in the water table and ride the Dora Powerwheel, while naked and eating dinner! |
Hailey loved helping me make gift baskets for her teachers. |
We made an impromptu trip to Chuck E Cheese for dinner after one of our many family trips to Target. The girls had so much fun and big pregnant Mommy single handedly ate an entire pizza! |
The girls liked playing the games with Daddy. |
Lainey loved riding in the princess carriage. |
Hailey, working on her Eiffel Tower picture at her friend Sophie's birthday party. |
Hailey and Maddie were happy to help Sophie blow out her candles! |
Best buds. Hailey's teacher always says that, "Hailey and Maddie are as tight as ticks!" |
And that's just fine with me because I happen to love her Mama! |
Lainey was not happy that she didn't get to paint a picture too... |
But she cheered up when her BFF Ella showed up. |
Of course Hailey had to get in on the hugging action. This girl never misses and opportunity for a hug! |
And Lainey never misses an opportunity for CAKE! |
Lainey, sporting a beret from the painting party. |
Hailey's picture turned out so cute, we hung it up in the playroom. (ok, she may or may not have had some help from Mommy and Daddy!) |
Bug was the line leader for the Spring Fling gymnastics show! |
Lainey made a friend there and loved playing on the equipment while Sissy was preforming. |
Our Gym Star!! |
Clearly someone over did herself by showing off at her Gym show and was in no mood for pictures afterwards. |
Lainey with her cousin Layla on her first birthday. I see double trouble coming in the next few years!!! |
Both girls just love baby Layla! |
Checking out the presents! |
The girls love playing on aunt Kay's pony! |
I must say, it does make from some pretty cute pictures! |

They were also nice enough to try them all out for her! |
The girls with Uncle Ken and Babu. |

Hailey, and her baby, "Sparkle." Hailey has grown quite attached to Sparkle of the past week. Sparkle has to do everything she is doing. So, not only do I have to make sure the girls are fed, dressed and loaded in the car in the mornings... |
But now I have to make sure Sparkle is too!! It's good practice for September I guess! |
A yummy breakfast of (mostly) chocolate chips and waffles on Hailey's last day of preschool. |
Lainey was happy to see her teachers Jody and Christine on her last day in the TMO room. |

Catching ladybugs. |
Both girls were very excited to show Mommy the beautiful things they had made at preschool. |
One of Hailey's pictures said "I love you Mommy and baby!" Melt my heart! |
Chocolate pudding and Lilly dresses. Not a good combo. |
Hailey's end of the year program was the cutest thing I have ever seen! I was the embarrassing Mom sitting in the front row waving and mouthing all the words to the songs, while juggling a camera and camcorder and crying hysterically!! |
Fortunately, Hailey was very appreciative of Mommy's support and enthusiasm! Ask me again in ten years and I'm sure I'll have a different answer for you! |
They were so cute singing! "Little Red Caboose" and "Fire truck, fire truck" were two of many adorable songs they sang. |
Hailey and her Red Room teachers, Blanche and Erin. We all LOVE these ladies and are sad to be leaving the Red Room! Fortunately, Hailey is going to see Erin at gymnastics and we will see Blanche at the pool all summer. Plus, Blanche's daughter Sophie is going to be "Mommy's helper" this summer, so Hailey will get to see lots more of "Big girl Sophie!" |
Hailey, Jasper and Owen. Headed out to the courtyard for popsicles after the program. |
