It's been raining. A lot. To keep ourselves from going stir crazy, we've been playing dollies, dress up, reading stories and have depleted our once well stocked arts and crafts cabinet. After a week of rain, we are all tired of being cooped up inside and are hoping that this rain turns into snow tonight!!
We've all been trying to keep busy to fend off the rainy day blues. Lainey has had a busy week! She saw a dermatologist for her first laser treatment on her lip. It was very traumatic for both of us and I know I'm thankful that she doesn't have to go back for another 6 weeks! She has also started to potty train herself! She's pooped on the potty everyday this week!! She comes to find me and points to her bottom and says "Dis." Then she points to the bathroom and says, "Dora! Boots!" Because she wants to sit on Hailey's Dora potty seat. I am shocked that she is doing this already, and I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with potty training again!
Hailey beat the rainy day blues by starting her first "Gym Stars" gymnastics class. Now that she has advanced to the big leagues, they had her flipping and jumping and swinging all over the place! She even got strapped into a harness and got to "fly!" She's also been having a great week at preschool. They've been talking about hibernation and she seems to be quite fascinated with it! She was also happy that it was raining so she could wear "beautiful princess dresses" all week because they wouldn't be playing outside on the playground.
I've been beating the rainy day blues by turning into a stereotypical stay at home mom/wife. I spend my whole week at the girls' preschool, at church and gabbing on the phone to my best girl friends while I'm making dinner, folding laundry and bathing my children...all at the same time. I'm on the Parent's Council and have been busy with PTA meetings and I've also joined the Women's Ministry at church and seem to spend most of my week at church (sometimes even with a covered dish in hand!)
Doug has been warding off the rainy day blues by keeping busy with work, as usual. However, now that he's a Vice President, his hours have been awesome! We get to eat all three meals together as a family, and I no longer feel like I'm married to his blackberry too! He's also been busy hunting for houses for us!!! Finally, we got to meet up with a bunch of our friends from Darden this week for a mini-reunion.
For a gloomy, wet week, I'd say this week has been pretty darn great!
| They aren't going to let a little rain get them down! |
| Lulu, on the morning of her first laser surgery treatment. We made sure she was spoiled rotten that day! She woke up to find her favorite breakfast (waffles and milk) waiting for her, along with her favorite episode of Dora. |
| Waiting for the doctor to come in. She brought Teddy and Dora along for moral support. |
| Watching Dora in the car, on the way home. |
| I think she finally forgot about the traumatic office visit by bedtime. |
| The next day she was happy as can be! |
| She was very happy to show me her new and slightly dangerous trick or jumping off of her chair. |
| I couldn't scold her because she was so darn proud of herself! |
| And so darn cute. |
| Hugs for Dora and Boots. |
| Taking Baby for a walk. |
| Drawing a masterpiece. |
| Engrossed in a good read. |
| Pooping on the potty!! |
| Multi-tasking! |
| "Sissy" was very proud of her little sister for going potty on the big girl potty! |
| Gym Star Hailey, getting ready to "fly!!" |
| "WEEEEEEEE!!!" |
| One happy girl!!! |
| I love that her class is much smaller this semester. |
| Getting her stamps from Ms. Megan. |
| Clearly we were getting bored inside all week! Yes, I know this looks very dangerous, but they were having a blast!! |
| Playing with her music box from Grandma. |
| Pulling Ariel and Eric around in the carriage. They were on their way to dinner, at "chicken and fries." |
| Showing off her shaker and hat she made at school for New Years. |
| Not one her finer fashion moments. Snow hat, princess dress and rain boots are definitely a fashion don't! |
| Reading her new favorite book. |
| Rapunzel and mini-Rapunzel. |
| Rapunzel and her long hair. |
| Getting a little baby mauling in with baby Hadley. |
| Darden's finest. |
| I've been trying VERY hard to get the girls to not be such picky eaters. Ok, Lainey will eat anything. I've been trying hard to get Hailey to be a better eater, and to eat her whole meal sitting at the dinner table. We haven't had hotdogs all week and the girls have had fruit and veggies with each meal. If you know me and my girls, you know that this is nothing short of a miracle!!! |
| Getting ready to brave the rainy weather. |
| We're so over this rain!!!! Is it Spring yet? |
