Vacation Detox

We've spent the week in "Vacation Detox."  The girls were both spoiled rotten during our Illinois vacation and this has been the toughest week us girls have ever had!  Lainey has spent most of the week screaming because I can't hold her 24/7 and Hailey has spent the better half of the week in time-out for either hitting her sister, talking back or spitting.  I have heard myself say phrases that my Mom said to me and that I told myself I would never say to my kids.  To name a few;  "I'm going to count to three young lady!  I have eyes in the back of my head.  If you don't behave, I'm going to turn this car around..."  If they weren't so darn cute when they aren't acting up then I would say we were done having kids.  But I'm crazy and would still like more...eventually.

Aside from being little terrors a handful, the girls have had a fun week and my Shingles are all gone!  We spent the first few days post-vaca doing laundry, cleaning the house and resting.  The girls enjoyed playing with their toys that they hadn't seen in awhile.  We celebrated Gigi's 50th birthday this week and Hailey also started Vacation Bible School.  Her teacher, Ms. Peaches, said that she has the best manners in the class.  (Really?)  I was prepared for a dramatic crying-fest on the first day of VBS, but instead she just walked in and said to the table full of kids, "Hi!  Let's be friends together!  We be friends with the whoooole world!"  It was very cute, and she LOVES it there.  She's been praying constantly, and today she came home singing, "Who's the best?  God's the best!"

It's been a tough week, but I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Just in time for us to fly to Florida in a week and do our Vacation Detox all over again.  Sigh.  Cocktail please!

Lulu has spent most of the week doing this...

...and this.  She wants to be held.  Constantly.  And when she's not, she's screaming!

Hailey has spent most of the week here, in her Time-Out corner.

Lainey likes to keep her company while she's in Time-Out.

And sometimes, they've actually played together...nicely!

Hailey helped me get the house cleaned up after we got home from vacation.

And she was also happy to get back to her princess dress up!  Introducing Fairy Princess Hailey.

Working on her car.

Lulu loves to make her toys play music and then loves bouncing and "dancing" to the music.

She also loves "talking" on Mommy's phone.

Working on her texting skills

Hailey was reading a story to her "class" of princesses.

The story was "Beauty and the Beast."

She loves anything Princess.

Lulu has been working on climbing  the stairs.

She's very proud of her progress.

This is the last time I'm going to leave her alone in her room with a bright pink cupcake!  It was all over the walls too!

Watching Buggy dance in the rain and "be silly."

Hailey has Vacation Bible School this week and she was so excited that Robert was in her class too!  She LOVES it and her teacher told me that she has the best manners in the class!

She's been praying all the time ever since she started VBS.

It's so sweet.

We also celebrated Gigi's 50th birthday this week!!  She's 50 and fabulous!

To celebrate, we went to Bottoms Up pizza with Kay and Ken.

A blurry, but cute picture of the birthday girl and Babu.

Lulu has become quite the climber these days and loves to sit in chairs and on couches.  Her favorite hang out spot is on her pink chair in her room with some books.

Lulu, looking a little like her Mommy.

Hailey has also noticed how much Lulu loves her pink chair, and in true ownery big sister fashion, she likes to sit in it and make her sister cry.

Much happier now that she has her throne back.

Smiling before Sunday school.

Smiley Lulu.

Excited to go to VBS.

Sweet sisters.

They can be nice, when they feel like it!

We're slowly getting adjusted and back into our routine...but it hasn't been easy!

  1. I feel for you guys. We went through the same thing with MIA every time we would visit Ken's parents. We would come home and she had to be held constantly. We tried hard with Olivia not to do that but its so hard when every body wants to hold them and spoil them:) I would love to try and see you guys on your Florida vacation. Are you going to Jupiter?

  2. They are adorable! I love having a third, but I am glad we have 3 years between the second and third.
