Soaking Up the Summer

Living in the moment.  That's what we've been trying to do this week.  There are only a few more weeks of summer left before the girls go to preschool.  It will be so quiet around here, and I'm sure I'll be depressed.  They may be a handful most of the time, but I'd rather have my hands full with them, than not have them around at all!  Fortunately, we've been keeping ourselves busy playing that I haven't had a lot of time to think about that.

Excited to go to Vacation Bible School.

Enjoying some Chick-fil-a with Robert after VBS.

Lainey and Joshua, working off their nuggets on the playground.

Last day of VBS.  She told me "I be so sad that Church Camp is over Mommy!"  Sweet girl.  Now she's been non stop talking about going to preschool in the Red Room.  And guess who the Red Room "Room-Mom" is?!  That's right!  Yours truly!  God help us all!

Cupcakes for breakfast because Mommy was running late that morning.  The breakfast of champions!

Lainey enjoyed some cheese and and fruit.  Let's be honest, Lainey enjoys anything you put in front of her!  However, yesterday she chose green beans over a cupcake!  I was proud, Hailey was appalled!

I hosted a baby shower on Saturday for one of my dear friends.  It was a pink umbrella theme and Bug enjoyed playing with the leftover decorations!

Playing Fairy Princess dress up with some leftover shower balloons.

She's worn her fairy wings everyday this week!  We even sported them to Westwood Club and she proudly showed them off to Mommy's bootcamp class!

I've noticed that it's been getting harder and harder to get her to smile nicely for cute blog pictures...

....forget smiling nicely.  It would be nice if she would just sit still!!

Finally!  I'm sure a bribe was involved!

Lainey loves purses!  She would have one around her arm all day, every day - along with a bracelet and anything else she can wear as arm decor - if her big sister would let her.  Unfortunately, Hailey will quickly swipe whatever her little sister is playing dress up with the moment she sees her playing with it.

Feeding Mommy's peonies syrup and sprinkles.  In a ballerina costume.  Don't ask.

All of her plant "food."

Apparently all of the best chefs cook in their undies!  (Don't get any ideas Doug!)

Post bath, with wet heads and sock monkey jammies on.

Clearly someone doesn't care that it's time to calm down and get ready for bed.

My blue eyed baby.

Wings before pants.  Priorities people!

Making Mommy a necklace.

Hailey is happy to have her backyard playland back!  No more "broken trees!!"

Trying to master the big girl cup, like her big sis.

With a 1 year old and a 3 year old, you learn not to "cry over spilled milk."  It happens.  A lot.

Lulu loves to climb.  She will sit on anything and everything!  (Which is repeatedly demonstrated in the pictures below!)

Well.  She's 14 months and still not walking.  She's not even interested in walking.  Hailey walked the day she turned 14 months.  Lainey seems to be perfectly content with crawling and using our dining room chairs as her "walker" to get around.  And I'm perfectly fine with that!  If it was up to me, she'd crawl until she was 4 years old!

Cruising around the living room.

We met some of our friends at the water fountains at the Children's Museum this week and it's pretty obvious from the pictures that Buggy had a blast.

Shooting some hoops with her friend Clarke.

Lulu loved watching them splash and run around!

Yep.  She's got a mouthful of water from the communal water bucket.

Thank goodness she spit it out!

Playdate success!!

I was too busy taking pictures to notice that our clothes were getting soaked!  I got a few stares as we walked through the museum to leave with a naked baby and a 3 year old in Dora undies!

Lulu, waiting for Daddy to get home from work...

Bug, waiting for Daddy...

Daddy's kisses make it worth the wait!

Our house.

Soaking up every last minute of my munchkins before they become St. Stephen's Preschool girls in the Fall.
