Memorial Day Weekend

We've had a very productive Memorial Day Weekend!  After our "Sacred Saturday Routine" (Gym/Bub, Little Gym, Lunch at Padow's) Buggy and I hopped in Pearl and took a ride to Camp Gigi and Babu's for the weekend.  I did a "drive by Bugging" and quickly dropped Hailey off for the rest of the weekend so this Mama could get caught up on her N&R...nesting & resting!  Not, of course, until after I got a relaxing pedicure for my swollen preggo feet, while reading my newest Us Weekly!  While Buggy was busy chasing around the "Poppies" and learning new words like "ga-nuts" aka donuts, I kept busy scrubbing baby equipment, installing car seats, washing baby clothes and *stocking up our freezer.

*for those lovely weeks ahead when I can barely function from lack of sleep, let alone prepare my hard working husband and picky, I mean "selective eater" (my most recent book, Raising Your Spirited Child, provides many suggestions for the numerous somewhat negative sounding adjectives to describe wild-donkey-like, I mean spirited kids!) daughter a home cooked meal.

Doug was able to get some work done in the office so that hopefully when Lainey decides to join this crazy nuthouse, he'll be able to take some time off.  It was nice going to the gym together (without having to leave one ear open for the girls in the Bub to page one of us because Buggy is sweating so much, and they think she might be getting sick!   No.  That's just Buggy's natural "glistening glow!")  We also got to have dinner together one night, and have Coldstone outside for dinner another night!  Even though we both missed our little nugget terribly (we almost drove to the 'burg to pick her up early on multiple occasions!) it was nice having time for ourselves, since that window of opportunity keeps getting smaller and smaller as D-day approaches!

After I picked Buggy up from Camp Gigi and Babu's we stopped by Daddy's work to run around and visit Daddy.  Now it's time for a nap, and then some burgers on the grill for dinner.

I think she had a good weekend!

Bug at her favorite summer camp, Camp Gigi and Babu!

Visiting Daddy at work.

Hugs for Daddy.

Kisses for Daddy.

Helping Daddy with his latest deal.

Doing her usual laps around the office.

Playing air hockey against Daddy...and winning!

She realized it was much easier to get the puck in the goal if you climbed up on top of the table!

Checking out the foosball table.

The highlight of this visit to Daddy's work was definitly the "Weegle Machine!"

Mmmm!  Weegles!

It's a shame they don't look anything alike...

Discussing deals, books, and Excel spreadsheets while walking with Daddy.

Bug loved that her Daddy had so many pictures of "Hay-wee" up in his office.

Going for a spin in a box...because she can.

Showing their support on Memorial Day.

Checking out the pretty "wata" views from Daddy's office.

I'm pretty sure the other Harris Williams Employees don't run on the board room table, but Buggy did...because she can!

C.E.O Buggy getting ready for her next big conference.  The topic of discussion is going to be on Weegle Machines, and how she can persuade her parents to get one in her house, ASAP!

"Look!  My Daddy has his name on his door!"

Waiting for the elevator (she loves pressing the button!) after a long morning in the office.

High fives after a successful workday!

As soon as we got in the door, she spotted the baby swing.  I couldn't believe that she didn't try to climb in it!  Instead she just walked up to it and said, "baby!"

It was nearly impossible to make it out of Kroger this morning without picking up Buggy's latest food find, "ga-nuts!"  (Thanks Gigi and Babu!)

Happy Buggy!  Fortuntely her scar is getting better and better each day!

I asked her to say cheese, but she thought I said "ABC's" so she proceeded to sing her ABC's instead and play music on the Little People's guitar!

Hope y'all had a great Memorial Day Weekend!  We sure did!  *Let the summer begin!!

*but don't let it get too miserably hot and sweaty until after I pop this baby out please!!

Doug's Girls

Doug's girls have been busy!  It's been at least a week since Buggy got over her last cold, so of course we were due for another one!  We spent the majority of the week snuggling and slowly bringing down her 103 fever.  After five long days, a trip to the pediatrician and lots of Tylenol and icecream, it finally looks like she's starting to feel better.

As far as Mommy and baby sister, Lainey, are concerned, we had our 35 week checkup this morning and everything is going great!  Baby's heartbeat is healthy (in the 140's) and I'm measuring right on track.  She can safely come out anytime now (even though I'd much prefer her to keep cooking for a few more weeks!  I've gotten behind on my to-do-before-baby list since we've been sick for so long!)  Regardless of when she decides to make her grand appearance, I can safely say that this pregnancy has flown by solely because of my spunky little 2 year old!  She keeps me so busy (and entertained!) that I don't even have time to think about anything else!  I can also say that we are much more prepared for the birth of Lainey.  We live 5 minutes from the hospital and I don't have to stress about the hour long drive like I did with Buggy-that was the longest 60 minutes of my life!  By the time we arrived in Charlottesville, I was already 7 cm dilated!!  This time, I'm getting that epidural as soon as possible!!  We also aren't in the middle of moving, and I've had time to get the nursery set up, baby clothes washed etc.  We have every piece of baby equipment you can imagine (the hard part is going to be keeping Hailey out of it all!) and Lainey has a pretty extensive wardrobe to welcome her into the world, thanks to her big sister!  Buggy has registered and paid for summer camp for the entire month of July-Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am-12pm.  That way she'll get a chance to visit with all of her friends and run around while Mommy takes care of the baby.  We've got the housekeeper already, so I don't have to worry about cleaning the house, and I'm in the middle of stocking the freezer full of dinners! (not to mention all the yummy meals we have to look forward to from the lovely Harris Williams wives once Lainey gets here!)

Hailey in front of what she calls "He's House!"

Lainey's Room.  We're just about done except for her crib bedding, which is on back order until July.  It's hard to believe that this used to be our closet!!

Buggy working on her twisting skills!

Playing with her favorite two matchbox cars, "Babu's Truck" and "Poogie's Truck".

Buggy with her number one man.

Buggy and I sure are lucky to be on of "Doug's Girls" and we're so happy to be adding another girl to the mix in about a month!!

Sacred Saturday

Our weekends are pretty sacred around here.  Especially when Daddy has been working his buns off at work all week!  We've got a pretty good Saturday routine down, and we've been enjoying it while it's still possible.  (In a little over a month our little world is going to be turned upside down!  And we couldn't be more excited about it!)

This particular weekend has been extra enjoyable for me because one of my dreams came true on Thursday.  I laid down with Buggy for our afternoon nap, and I woke up to a spotlessly clean home!  I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't still dreaming!  That's right people!  My amazing husband got this Mama a housekeeper!  (Just in case you didn't hear me shouting for joy from our rooftop on Thursday!)  Ms. Fahira comes every other Thursday and works her magic for almost 4 hours!!!  There's nothing like waking up to the smell of Clorox and Pine Sol, and knowing that you weren't the one on your hands and knees, 8 months pregnant, scrubbing the house while your 2 year old was napping!

Today was a particularly splendiforous Saturday!  We went to "The Bub" as a family (what Bug calls the Gold's Gym Kids Club) and then headed to The Little Gym so Buggy could get her workout in too!  "Yay!  Wittle Gym" is by far Buggy's favorite place to go.  We can't even tell her where we're going until we're strapped into Pearl and on our way there.  Otherwise, she will talk about it every 2 minutes until we end up going!  She even puts her People's in their SUV and takes them to "Wittle Gym" every day!  After Little Gym, we took our worn out toddler to our regular Saturday lunch spot, Padow's, where we all got our "regulars".  They know us by name and order now.  Naps came next and then we woke up and headed across the street to the park.  I'm sure the families there got an eyefull today because Bug had me going down just about every slide with her, and climbing every ladder!  Once she reached her full "sweatball potential" we headed back for some yummy breakfast for dinner (that Daddy cooked AND cleaned up!)  Yep, Saturdays sure are sacred around here, and now you can see why!

Playing peek-a-boo in her castle.

More peek-a-boo!

Watching Elmo, eating blueberries while her "pink toes like Mommy" dry!

I wonder what a 2 year old daydreams about?....my guess, Little Gym, "Milks" and the Park.

I asked Bug to smile for the camera, and these are the pictures I got.  At least she's starting to get the hang of it!....

Take 1...

Take 2...

Take 3...

Take 4...

Finally!!

Her favorite toy this week has been a matchbox car that she calls "Babu's Truck".  She takes it everywhere, and has been known to "accidentally" launch it at my forehead...I've got the unsightly bruise to prove it!

Chillin' on her power wheel.

Looking a little sweaty after a busy morning at The Bub and Little Gym.

Playing "music".  She's OBSESSED with Twinkle Twinkle and The ABC song.  She'll find every toy that plays those songs and she'll listen to them over and over again, while she dances and plays instruments to the music.

Getting ready to "rockabye" with Daddy as our splendid Saturday comes to an end.
