Busy Day

Us girls had a busy day today.  We woke up and went to "The Bub" where Bug got to run around and color and rule the roost since she's one of the "regulars" there.  Then we went to Little Gym where she got her fill of balls, bubbles and donkey kicks.  After lunch and a long nap we spent the afternoon soaking up some sun with The Carolines.

Buggy and Little Caroline, soaking up some sun.

Caroline didn't know what to think of Buggy sitting in her water table.

Since both Carolines were in their birthday suits, Bug decided to strip down too!

After some fun in the sun, Hailey and Little Caroline went for a wagon ride.

But the most exciting part of the playdate was finding 2 large buckets full of rocks, and proceeding to put them in the sewer...one by one.

Me and Lauren were happy that they were keeping so busy so we could rest our swollen feet!

My fingers are crossed that after all that excitement today, we will both be able to get some good sleep!

Braxton Hicks and Donkey Kicks (Easter 2011)

This was by far our favorite Easter yet.  (Aside from the fact that at 30 weeks, I was feeling exceptionally swollen and dealing with Braxton Hicks contractions all day!)  It was jam packed with lots of fun and probably a little too much excitement for one Buggy to take - which is probably why she was up every hour, on the hour, last night until 4am!
We began the morning running downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought Buggy. Then we headed to church to color, I mean learn, about Jesus. After a great service we packed up Pearl with all the Easter desserts this hungry Mommy made and headed to Gigi and Babu's. Instead of napping on the way there, Bug decided to ask about Babu? Gigi? Puppies? and Poogie? for the entire car trip. She just wanted to be certain that they were all going to be present.  Once Pearl arrived in the woods of Toano, we of course had to take some family photos for Gigi first, and then we headed inside to see what else the Easter Bunny brought for Bug.  We spent the rest of the day eating ourselves into Turkey coma and hunting for eggs outside.

Bug's loot from the Easter Bunny on Easter morning!

She got lots of cards this year, and a delicious Cookie Bouquet from Grandma Kinard!

Checking out her goodies.

Since every parent thinks their child is gifted, we had to get our little genius an abacus.

Playing tea party with her new tea set.  Daddy is getting really good at playing tea party!

Bug was so excited to see that the Easter Bunny came to Gigi and Babu's house too!

Much to my dismay, the Princess play tent was a big hit!

"Uncle Poogie?!  Why are you sleeping my princess tent?"

"Time to wake up Uncle Poogie!"

"I'm coming in too!"

Hunting for eggs.

Judging by the color of her cheeks, and the sweat dripping from her head, I think she had a good time outside!

Watching Gigi make Easter dinner.

Helping eat Easter dinner!

I think it's safe to say that Bug has warmed up to the puppies.  It's always fun to watch her run around and have so much fun at Gigi and Babu's.

Ever since we re-enrolled in Little Gym, Bug has been obsessed with perfecting her donkey kicks!

Yes, they are really called Donkey kicks!  How appropriate for our little wild donkey!  She spent most of Easter showing off her kicks to the puppies!  I think they were really impressed!

Mommy and Daddy certainly enjoyed not having to chase after Bug for an entire day!

Yep.  It was by far our best Easter ever...until next year!

Princess Jesus

We've been talking a lot about Jesus in our house this week.  And with all that talking, praying and reading we've been doing with Buggy, the only thing she seems to understand is "coloring."  Every time we say a prayer or say Jesus, Bug will repeat, "Jesus.  Coloring?!  Okay!"  This is probably because the only place she gets to color now is in the church nursery, where they color pictures of Him.  (We're on a coloring hiatus in our home right now because if I had to color one more thing, I may have thrown them out the window!)

Well, today was not exception.  We woke up, went to the "bub" with Daddy - a term her and her best friend Caroline came up with to describe the Kids Club at Gold's Gym - and came home for some lunch.  After lunch, we went upstairs to rock, and read a book about Easter, and of course, Jesus.

I've never been a fan of the whole "princess phase" or anything princess for that matter, and was secretly hoping that since she's such a tomboy at heart, we would get to bypass that whole stage altogether.  But, much to my dismay, while I was reading, Bug spotted her dress-up basket in her closet and pointed to a hand me down princess costume that I may or may not have tried to hide in the corner.  She asked, "Princess?"  and then tried to put in on....ugh....When I asked her what the princess' name was she replied very matter of factly, "Princess Jesus!"

I couldn't help but give her a big hug and kiss, and be glad that she's at least learing about our Savior...even if He has to be in the form of a princess for now.
