Halfway There!

Phew!  Halfway there (or, if he/she is following their big sister's timeline, only 3 1/2 more months left!)  I'm sure I'm jinxing myself, but this pregnancy is flying by!  Perhaps it's because my unborn child's sibling is a wild donkey!  In the past few weeks we have begun to experience "the terrible two's" with Bug.  And the fact that she is a highly spirited child makes this phase that much more exhausting (not to mention the fact that I'm 4 1/2 months pregnant!)

(A very rare!) Baby bump picture!  We find out if Bug is going to have a big brother or sister on Friday!!
20 weeks

Bug and Mama are smiling big because our tummy's were full from a yummy Pre Valentine's Day Brunch at Joe's Inn on Sunday after church.  It was borderline disgusting how much food *we consumed.

*we, as in just Big Mama!

I should also say that my charming hubby took me out to an amazing restaraunt for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate our 10th!!! Valentine's Day together!  He sure does know the way to a pregnant Mama's heart! (through her always expanding belly, of course!)

Her favorite activity, other than playing with trucks, trains, boats, cars and pretty much anything your typical toddler boy would love, is to spread her "circles" out on the playroom floor and run through them, yelling "Circles!!", over and over again!
I should note that the "circles" are actually shiny bracelets that I bought her, in an attempt to get her to play with something, anything, girly!  This isn't exactly how I intended her to play with them, but what can you do?!

Bug loves to visit the poor doggy that lives two houses down from us.  He's always in his cage outside, and she feels sorry for him.

Helping Daddy grill burgers!  Not sure why, but she's a big fan of the sandbox now!  I just want to mention that her Daddy dressed her (in her jammies, dress shoes and white socks!)  Gotta love his fashion sense!

Talking sports and politics with DaTa.

On Valentines Day, we spent the afternoon with Robert.  Bug asked him to be her Valentine and gave him a goodie bag of treats, and he said "yes!"  They celebrated their tiny romance by digging in the sandbox and tearing apart the playroom!

Hailey's Valentine's day goodies from Mommy, Daddy and her grandparents consisted of: tons of candy (because my daughter is lacking in the energy department, and could always use a sugar boost!), balloons & stickers (always a hit!), clothes, a backpack like Dora, a train track, Match Box cars, a huge Tonka dump truck, a car noises puzzle, a noisy firetruck...basically, if this is a little boy in my belly, he's going to have some appropriate toys to play with!  Robert was super happy that there were finally some "boy" toys in the playroom to play with!

It's amazing to me how much mischief this little one can get into in the 5 minutes it takes for me to blow dry my hair in the mornings!  Note the stuffed animals (2 of which have music boxes in them that are no longer functioning!) taking a "baf" in the "wata".  Also note that most of the water in the toilet has been soaked up by the completely saturated animals, and flung throughout the bathroom.  (The trash can was also filled with water soaked animals!)  Her diaper expanded 5 times it's size trying to compensate for all the fluid it had to soak up, and her socks squished when she tried to run away from me!  Sigh.

I'm not sure how she manages to be such a handful, day in and day out...

...while filling my heart with so much love, that she can do no wrong, at the same time.
We sure do love our spirited Buggy!

  1. Oh my! You cracked me up with the "tiny romance" bit and I was gasping when I saw the stuffed animals in the toilet. I would have lost it, but you just got the camera. Clearly you just roll with it. God gave her the perfect mommy just for her!
