How Bizarre!

Today has been jam packed with "bizarre/bazaar" events!  The most shocking of them being the fact that I, yes the Queen of "Pear Shaped/Not meant for running" women finished a 10K today and ran the whole thing!  I'm still shocked that I didn't puke or that medic didn't have to haul me away, pumped full of fluids!  My super sweet husband even forfited his chance at winning the whole race so he could run next to me the whole time (aka with the "slow folk"). Love you Doug;)  Go Team Dolly!

After our big morning running the Monument 10k (we were two of almost 40,000 people running!) Granny Nanny and I hit up the Semi-Annual "Bizarre Bazaar" where I stocked up on TONS of loot for Little Miss Buggy!  Hello!  Smocked dresses for $15?!  What?!!  So of course I had to buy 12!  Not only were those prices bizarre, but the fact that I was expecting to be banned to the daybed in Hailey's room for the night, with my credit cards taken away, once I showed Doug how much I bought...but wait for it...he said..."Happy wife, happy life!"  Forget the 10K,  I'm still catching my breath after that comment!  Clearly he's still light-headed from the race.  (Yes Grandmama and Grandaddy, there's an Auburn Tigers Dress in there!!  Wareagle!)

After all that shopping, Buggy was ready to veg for awhile with her Daddy and watch a little Baby Einstein.  (Doug with his Mini-me!)

I'm also finding it bizarre at how quickly our little nugget is growing up!  She's pulling up whenever she can and is getting into EVERYTHING!

She's already big enough for her Lion Ride that Aunt Kelly and Uncle Dan got her!

When we opened that toy on Christmas, I remember thinking that she wouldn't be able to ride that for a LONG time!

She's also decided to retire her oh so unique "solider crawl" for your typical baby crawl!

It's also quite bizaare how quickly my daughters love of oral hygiene has developed!
"Mommy, Daddy needs to floss between 24 and 25!"

And finally, it's so bizarre that it's almost Easter already, which means one more month until our sweet girl is a year old!  I'm going to need Kleenex some Prozac and a strong martini that day!!
Time sure does fly!

Three Musketeers

Buggy is a very happy girl today!...

...because she got to play with her man Robert this afternoon...

...and then her cutie patootie from music class, Trip, came over...

...and they all got to play together:)  Can't beat the girl/guy ratio there!  Don't tell her Daddy that she had 2 boys over while he was away!

My Not So Secret Love Affair

A very wise person once said, "Your first child is a love affair and a science experiment."  Ok, maybe it was Granny Nanny who told me that yesterday, but she's still wise to me!  She's been doing this parenting thing since she was 19!!

Either way, the quote came up because I just can't imagine loving another baby as much as I love our chubby, giggling, dribbling, Buggy!  I guess we'll just have to wait and see if/when Hailey's brother or sister comes along, but for now, this little nugget has captured my heart and won't let go!

If only I could just stop her from growing up so fast.  In the past two days she has practically turned into a toddler!

She's eating Cheerios and drinking out of her big girl sippy cup.

She's developed a liking for Mommy and Daddy's favorite pizza place, "Mary Angela's".

She's perfected her, "I'm displeased with something, so find out what it is and fix it Mommy" face.

She's clapping...all the time!

And waving! "Hi Grandma and Grandpa!"

She's saying, "Mama!!"

She's crawling up the stairs.

And crawling through boxes.

She got her first dollhouse!

And she's discovered how much fun she can have with a roll of toilet paper if Mommy leaves her alone for 20 seconds!

Yes, this little girl makes us very happy without even trying!
We are so blessed!  God is good!

Spring Nights

We've been enjoying this beautiful spring weather during the daytime...but at night, we have to find new things to keep Hailey entertained.  Here are some of our recent activities...

We all know that Buggy LOVES her bath, and lately she really enjoys watching her tub fill up with water.  However, last night she got a little too excited, if you know what I mean!  Yes, that yellow spot on the bath mat is what you think it is!

Now that it's so nice out, we've been waiting on the front poarch at night for Daddy to come home.  Since Hailey is seriously teething, she's most interested in her Daddy's fingers lately.

We opened up her Fancy Nancy doll that she has been trying to get to for the past 6 months and she loves her!

Hailey doing a little reading from her favorite book.
Reading "Baby Einstein" with Daddy...
...and US Weekly with Mommy!
"O.M.G.! Can you believe she wore that to the Oscars?"

We bought a small DVD player for our plane trip to Florida, and now that we're home, I put it in the playroom.  You'd think that with all those toys, she wouldn't be as fascinated with it...

When I turned her favorite program off, she was not a happy camper.  But a new trick we've learned is to start singing, "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!" whenever she starts crying and she'll start clapping and smiling!
Yes, we are SO excited for these beautiful spring days and love watching our "Disney movie" in our backyard with all the bunnies, squirrels, chipmunks and birds.  But these spring nights are too shabby either!
