Caleb's First Disney Vacation

This Disney vacation looked a little different than past trips, but it was more magical than ever!  Keeping with tradition, we wanted to take Caleb when he was four, and we sure as heck we weren't going to let a global pandemic stop us this time! So we stocked up on Disney masks and hand sanitizer and hit the road!

We stayed at our favorite Disney resort, The Grand Floridian, and the suite and view were awesome!  One of Caleb's favorite things to do was to stand on the balcony and wait for the monorail to go by.  Every few minutes we would hear him yell, "Blue monorail!!" "Red monorail!" "Green monorail!" He was fascinated with the "train in the sky."  We rode it over and over again, and at then end of the trip he came home with a remote control monorail for himself.  Our resort was beautiful and it almost felt like we had it to ourselves.  This year we factored in an "off" day between park visits and it may have been the best day of the vacation.  We spent the whole day relaxing, eating and drinking by the pool.  Hailey and Lainey dominated in hula hoop contests and trivia games and Avery and Caleb wore themselves out on the waterslide. We woke up feeling recharged (and a little sunburned!)

This time was also different because we didn't spend our time waiting in lines to meet princesses.  We actually rode the rides!  All of them!  In all three parks!  Even Caleb rode the roller coasters (with a little help from some shoe inserts!)  His favorite rides were Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom and Slinky Dog in Universal. While I know he loved the rides, I think the highlight of Caleb's week was getting to "meet" Lightning McQueen!  The girls loved riding Everest in Animal Kingdom and the Tower of Terror in Universal.  We capped off the trip with a breakfast with Mickey and his pals and said our farewells.  I must admit, even though we were beyond exhausted, all of us were sad to say goodbye. It truly was a magical time.

A whole lotta planning went into making this vacation magical!

This is what a week long vacation with four kids and no washing machine looks like!  (And this was just half of it!!)
