Kinard Family Chronicles: July/August Recap

We've been making the most of our summer weeks together! Here is our month in photos:

Hailey's Kindergarten Here We Come St Catherine's Camp

Hailey was super excited to start her camp and couldn't wait to see some of her JK buddies and old teachers. She also had fun meeting some of her new classmates and loved being able to show them around the school and even taught them a new song.

Lainey's Mermaids and Pirates St. Catherine's Camp

Lainey was recovering from a bad stomach bug that swept through our house, so she only made it to a few days of her camp. She had fun pretending to be a mermaid and making treasure boxes, starfish and other fun sea creations.

Gymnastics Camp

The girls are excited to start gymnastics again in the fall! They have been getting back into the swing of things with camp twice a week. They especially love being able to do it together and the bouncy house doesn't hurt either! One of the weeks was "Superhero" week, where they got to go inside a firetruck and a police car!

Busch Gardens and Water Country

The girls always have a great time at Busch Gardens, especially when Layla comes along too! We went later in the day and ended the night with fireworks! Poor Lainey was beginning to come down with a stomach bug, so we spent a lot of the time in the bathroom...

The next day, we left poor Lulu at home with Gigi and met some of our family from Illinois and the Wilkeys at Water Country. Hailey loved the water slides and the lazy river and couldn't wait to bring Lainey once she felt better. To our surprise, Lainey had a great time too and had no fear when it came to the water slides! She tried every one and laughed the whole way down! It was fun to watch the two of them hold hands and explore the water park together.

I know it seems wrong to take her picture, poor thing. But we spent SO much time in there, I felt the need to document it.

Weekend Getaways in Williamsburg

We've loved spending our summer weekends in Williamsburg. We get to go out on dates while the girls run around outside, go wild, get dirty and TIRED! We are so fortunate to have family so close.

Cavity Free Dental Checkups

The girls had another perfect checkup! Avery even went for a ride in the chair (in my lap) and let the dentist look at her teeth.

It's so nice having an in office babysitter while I get my teeth cleaned!! The girls run around Gigi's work like they own the place!

Hailey brought her crab to the dentist to get his teeth checked too. (Since he was the only stuffed animal she could find with teeth!)

Home Sick

Lainey and Avery spent some quality snuggling time at home with Mommy when they were sick with the stomach bug. Somehow, Hailey escaped it and was able to enjoy her Kindergarten summer camp.

She was extra cuddly and spent two days in either Mommy or Daddy's arms.

It took Lainey a long time to get back to normal. We're not sure if she was really still feeling sick, or if she just liked to extra attention from Mommy and Daddy!

She looked awfully chipper to be skipping a day of summer camp to go to the doctor!

When Avery was sick, we let her have her paci, pretty much 24/7. Needless to say, the paci-detox was not easy on her!!!

New Children's Museum

We spent one afternoon checking out the new Children's Museum. Of course, the girls had a blast!

Hailey's Solo Weekend at Gigi and Babu's

Earlier in the summer, Lainey got to have her solo weekend at Gigi and Babu's house. She went to the horse stables, the playground and played with Layla. Hailey finally got to have her special weekend there too. They went to the movies, went to Busch Gardens with Layla, did lots of crafts and Uncle Poogie even caught her a pet turtle names "Sparkle."

Lainey got to spend some special time with Mommy and Daddy while Hailey was gone. We got matching mani-pedis, played lots of dolls, and Daddy even took her to work with her for the day! She even got to sit in on some of Daddy's work meetings and worked very hard coloring new pictures for Daddy's office. We also enjoyed a visit from some old friends and Lainey got to have all of their attention. They dressed up, played in the playroom and had a fun sleepover together!

Avery gets special attention from all of us, all of the time because she demands it! So this weekend was just like any other for her! ;-)
