Hailey and Lainey's First Dance Recital

I've finally gotten control over my proud Mama emotions enough to post pictures of my two tiny dancers! Hailey and Lainey had their very first dance recital this weekend and I'm quite certain it will remain the cutest thing I will ever see in my entire life! Lainey was a ballet mouse and Hailey was a jazz/tap bat in West End Academy of Dance's: Dancing into the Woods "A Tangled Fairy Tale." Lainey was one of Cinderella's mice that came out during a picnic. They came out with wiggling whiskers, then danced and twirled and stole the show down to the final few seconds when Cinderella swept them off stage with her broom! Hailey was a super sparkly baby bat in the Dark Forest. She was by far the littlest bat in her class and hands down the cutest! She remembered every step of her performance and sure made us proud! I was crying and on the edge of my seat for both of them! They both made me so proud. Their performances were on different days, which at first seemed like it would be a big hassle, but n the end it turned out great because each girl had their own special day and they got to watch each other's performances. Lainey's performance was first, so she got to be the big girl and show us how it's done. They both loved watching the show from the audience and especially liked watching our neighbor/babysitter/friend Bridget. I was thankful to have her backstage with them. She consoled Lainey when she was nervous and gave them both backstage pep talks before their big dance debuts! Since both of our babysitters were at the recital with us (Gigi and Bridget) we were lucky enough to have the girls' old preschool teacher and my friend, Blanche babysit Avery both nights. The girls were excited to have another person to show their costumes off to, and Avery had a super time getting all of Blanche's attention. Both girls agreed on Sugar Shack donuts for an after-recital treat. This memorable weekend made all of our Saturday mornings in the dance studio and weeknights at rehearsals worth it!
