Avery Claire Kinard
Born on Labor Day, September 2, 2013 at 3:13am.
6lbs 2oz 19inches.
The world just got a little cuter! Avery's here and we're head over heals in love with our little labor of love. Just like her big sisters, Avery was born 3 weeks early. Lainey was born at 36 weeks and 6 days, Hailey was exactly 37 weeks and Avery was 37 weeks and 1 day! (And let me tell you, that one extra day was the longest day of my life!!)
Our Sunday started off like every other Sunday. We went to church, snapped some pictures in our Sunday best, including my weekly "bump pic" where I was not happy to be past the 37 week mark, and then had brunch with our good friends The Lucks. During brunch, I wasn't feeling so great. We headed home, put the girls to bed and then I started having contractions! After about 2 hours, we decided to call Gigi and tell her to come over, just in case. I called Dr. Jefferson a few hours later. My doctor was on vacation and I had never met Dr. Jefferson before. She clearly didn't know my birthing history because she told me to lay down and take some Tylenol and call her in a couple of hours. Really?! I told her that this wasn't my first rodeo and somehow convinced her to call the hospital and let them know we were coming in. 14 very painful hours later, we welcomed the newest little lady into our family. This was certainly the hardest I've ever worked on Labor Day!!!
Avery is by far our calmest newborn. She rarely cries, sleeps great and is hands down our best eater!
The girls have been great with her, and don't want to leave her alone! They always want to hold, kiss and hug her. We've definitely gone through our fair share of hand soap and sanitizer in the past few days!! Hailey loves putting on puppet shows for her, and wants to tell Avery everything. She says she's "so cute" and is constantly asking questions about her. We've even caught her nursing her babydolls!! Lainey has become our baby mauler!! She always wants to "hold it!!' and is constantly asking to "Hold it! Hold it! Mommy let go, I hold it!!" Then as soon as she holds her, she says "it's ok baby" and then gives her a kiss. It melts my heart.
Our Kinard family of five couldn't be happier and I'm just trying to find a way to stop time for awhile so I can savor every "pink" minute of it!
"Labor" Day
| My first 37 week Baby Bump Pic! |
| Posing before Sunday school in Avery's nursery. Little did they know, their little sister would be working her way out later that day! |
| It's pretty sad when you consider early labor a "vacation!" Between contractions I was actually enjoying the quiet tv time!! But that didn't last long.... |
| Love at first sight. |
| Our fabulous nurse. She was the same nurse we had when Lainey was born (and she has a Lainey too!) |
| Mommy and Daddy instantly fell in love with this sweet girl. |
Visiting Avery in the Hospital
| Hailey ran right up to the bassinet to check out her newest little sister. |
| Lainey ran right up to Mommy's bed and wanted to take it for a ride! |

| Kinard family of five! |
| Avery and her Uncle Poogie. |
| Grandpa drove up from Florida the next day to meet his newest granddaughter and to help out for a little while. |
| My lucky pink socks. I've worn them in the recovery room after all three of my girls were born. It might be time to hang them up...I think...maybe I'll hold on to them a little longer, just in case! |
| The girls made Avery a card while they were waiting to meet her. |
| Avery loved them! |
Going Home!
| Ready to take home our newest family member! |
| I've grown to love the little old ladies and old men who wheel me out after my hospital stay! |
| Heading home in Daddy's car aka "Pearl." All three girls have gone home in this car. |
| Welcome home Avery! |
| Because we weren't in the middle of a move, or getting ready to move, we had lots of time to get Avery's nursery ready! |
| "Biggest Sis" Hailey and her "Baby Sis." |
| "Big Sis" Lainey, anxiously awaiting her turn to "hold it!' |
