We Squeezed Them Extra Tight Last Night....

Our hearts are heavy following yesterday's tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.  My heart is so broken for those 20 innocent babies and the people who cared for them.  We squeezed our babies extra tight last night...

Before we were numbed by this horrible news, the girls and I were having a wonderful week.  We've been staying in the Christmas Spirit by singing Christmas songs, reading Christmas books, making Christmas crafts and spending time with good friends.  The girls even had a trail run visit with Santa!  Hailey also put on a spectacular performance in her Winter Gymnastics Show (see the pictures and caption below to learn how she was the star of the show!) and she did a great job during her dental checkup at Gigi's office.

Hailey's "Naughty list face."

Hailey's "Nice list face."

Undecorating the tree.

Mini Dora the Explorer.

Tis the season for festive treats!  Bug, posing with her snowman cookie from Starbucks.

She didn't give me time to take a picture of her posing with her snowman Krispy Kreme doughnut from her friend Sophie!

Performing in the Winter Show at gymnastics.  She was the star of the show, as always.  But this time it was because she spent the whole recital smelling her butt and yelling out "Mommy!  I haves to go POOPS!!" I was mortified, everyone else laughed, because it wasn't their child!

Lulu, practicing her forward rolls during the show.

Saying "Ta da!" She got a ribbon after she demonstrated all of her fantastic gymnastic moves!

The Elf is still working his magic around here!

Bug and I had dental check ups this week.  Hailey did GREAT!

Picking out a treasure.

Gigi and Babu took the girls to Yankee Candle to visit Santa.  Hailey was in heaven!  Unfortunately, Lainey was terrified (and rightly so!)  So this is the only picture that we took away from the Santa visit (one that Babu thankfully snapped before they told him not to take pictures...they obviously wanted us to buy the $40 pack of 5X7's!)  We will make a second attempt in Florida.

Hailey was so excited when it started snowing inside Yankee Candle!

Can you spot the festive 3 year old?!  She blends in!!

On her way to preschool.

Excited to go to school with her big sister.

She's always sitting on Ms. Jody's lap when I pick her up!  They have music class at the end of the day, and she was playing dancing and shaking jingle bells!

Showing Mommy her favorite toys at school.

The girls, attacking a Christmas present from Owen and Ella.

It was a Disney Princess game!  Owen was a good sport about playing "princess" with Hailey.

Hailey was enamored.

The girls helped decorate food bags for children in need.

It's moments like these that make this time of year magical.
