1 cancelled playdate + 1 rainy Monday morning = 1 not so "manic" Monday morning!
Even though our fun playdate fell through, we still managed to have one fantastic morning, with just us girls. Bug wasn't happy with the outfit that I put on her for our playdate, so she picked out her own outfit. Jeans and a t-shirt, "Like Joshua!" (a friend of hers from preschool.) I would much rather her dress up like a little girl (dresses, BIG bows and smocking!), and not a little boy or even a grown up girl, but since we were staying home all morning, I caved. After some Dora viewing on Mommy's bed, we left Lulu in the swing to take her morning nap and then headed downstairs to cook in her kitchen and play trains. Daddy came home for lunch and helped us find another use for our underutilized treadmill...
Then we waved bye bye to Daddy, and did some more snuggling on the couch, while we read storied and watched the rain come down. As I was trying to snuggle each girl equally, I noticed how Lulu seems to be catching up to Bug in the weight department, so we decided to bring out the scale and weigh eachother. Bug loved checking her "numbers." Mommy, not so much. Bug was a meager 27 pounds and Lulu a whopping 17! Yep. She's only 10 pounds lighter than her older sister! Someone is going to get a reality check pretty soon, when her little sister starts "hugging" back! (with equally white knuckles and tight squeezes!) Finally, both girls went down for an afternoon nap without any protest whatsoever, while I got to get caught up on my lazy couch/tv time. Perfect Monday morning all around!
Love that those sisters love each other. And lazy Mondays are the best!
