As I was going through the mile high stack of papers/to-do lists on my dresser (that seems to be never ending and always unattended to these days) I realized that I never posted Lainey's one month stats from her checkup over a week ago! Poor second child.
Weight: 8lbs 2oz (10% - she's now on the charts!!)
Height: 21inches (25%)
(And the one everyone in Florida has been waiting for!!...)
Head: 14 3/4 (50%) - not at 95% like her big sister, but she's obviously on her way up there!! :/ Of all the marvelous traits my husband could pass down to his children, they get this one!
At one month, Lulu is really starting to show her personality. She's smiling all the time, still eating like a champ, and is starting to get on a schedule. She's only been waking up to nurse once at night for the past 2 weeks! And she's already slept through the night once! She's outgrown 2 sizes of diaps already and left newborn size clothes in the dust a long time ago! She would eat all day long if I let her! One difference from her big sister (besides not having baby acne at this point, or a clogged tear duct, or torticollis, or the fact that I'm still nursing her!) is that Lulu loves to be held. All. The. Time. In fact, if I'm not holding her, she will cry and scream until I finally cave in and pick her up. For obvious reasons, this makes my life very difficult since I have a 2 year old to chase after who doesn't exactly like to sit quietly and play by herself!
But, I'm just enjoying the fact that she wants me to cuddle her, because I know that stage doesn't last very long! And besides, how could you not want to cuddle this little peanut?!
Now that Lulu is starting to get a little more interactive, we've been getting out baby toys for her to play with. One toy that Lainey will not get to have as a hand-me-down is Sophie the giraffe! Hailey was not happy about sharing her!
After a month and a half of having a new baby in the house, Buggy seems to be adjusting just fine. She's been very gentle with Lulu and the only way she seems to have acted out is by not eating for a whole week! We took her to the doctor and after running every test and exam possible, we came to the conclusion that it was just her way of dealing with her new baby sister, and all the attention that she's been getting. Breaks my heart just thinking about it! :(

We're three weeks into Summer Camp and we've reached panic mode. Next week is the last week and I don't know what I'm going to do once it's over!! Buggy just LOVES it and I love the 3 hours 3 times a week where I actually get to shower and go to Kroger with only one child! All of our friends are in the same camp and like to go out to lunch afterwards. We always have to pass because we head straight for the bath tub after camp! Buggy leaves camp soaking wet from water play, dripping in sweat, covered in the craft of the day (paint, marker, glue) and with dirt under her fingernails and in her neck rolls! If that isn't the picture of a fun filled morning for a two year old, then I don't know what is?! I'm still baffled as to how my child is the only one that looks like this at preschool pickup though! All the other children calmly meet their Mommies at the door, with their smocked dressed unscathed, bow still perfectly in place and not an ounce of marker or sweat on their little bodies! In fact, I came early to pick her up one day and I wasn't surprised at the picture I saw...all the kids sitting quietly in a circle playing and listening to the teacher, and then there's Buggy running around like a wild donkey with markers in her hands, a Popsicle dangling from her mouth and a teacher chasing after her!! Without fail, each time I pick her up, one of the teachers tells me "She sure did play hard today! And boy does she like to run! And sweat too!"
Daddy usually meets us at home with a cup of weegles from his weegle machine and but dives right in! Then, once she's cooled off a bit, she shows him the craft that she made that day!
"Look at how sweaty I am people!"
We're so happy to finally have our backyard back (after four months!!) Of course, now the weather is in the 100's with heat indices in the 115's, but that didn't stop Buggy and Daddy from going out there the minute that deck was complete! I didn't even care that it was right after baths, and right before bedtime. I was just happy to see how happy Buggy was to be outside in her backyard again!
We spent a day at Gigi and Babu's house last week while our house was getting fumigated, and on top of all the donuts, puppy chasing, vintage Little People's and pool fun, Gigi brought out her massive collection of charm bracelets. Bug was full of "wow's" and "pretty's"!
And Lulu was full of sleepy smiles.
Lainey just loves looking at her big sister.
And even though she won't always admit it, Hailey loves her baby sister too!
The two of them are already a handful for this outnumbered Mama, and I can already tell that they are going to be best friends!
Happy Weekend *Y'all!!
*(By the way Gigi, I caught Buggy saying "Bye y'all!" This week at camp!)
