A not so Jolly Experience!

We finally went to see Santa yesterday.  After all the Santa brainwashing we've been doing and the hundred's of times we've watched Elmo visit Santa on tv, I thought Bug was a shoe in for some cute beard tugging, Santa hugging pictures this year.  I was wrong.  We were NOT a fan!

While we waited in line, Buggy Oooh-ed and Awww-ed at all the "No-no's" (snowmen) and "pwetty twees" and watched patiently as all the festive little girls and boys happily sat on Santa's jolly lap to tell him what they wanted for Christmas that year.  Then it was our turn.  She ran up to Santa and then melted in front of him, like her legs had stopped working.  And then came the screams.  And boy can she scream!  Poor Santa was a professional and tried every trick he had up his fluffy red sleeve.  We tried Mommy sitting next to Bug, distraction with stuffed animals, candy canes, jingle bells.  He even tried sitting her on a big green drum and sneaking up behind her to catch a smiling picture of the two of them.  Nope.  Not happening.  I must say though, she's mastered the screaming Santa photo quite nicely.  I guess there's always next year!

Today before church, the scarey Santa experience was a foggy distant memory.  We had a great morning going to church as a family and enjoyed a delicious brunch of omlettes and waffles before we headed home for a nice long nap.

Each morning Buggy begs to go downstairs and wake up the Christmas Twee and then we put an ornament on the Advent calender.

Merry Christmas week!!
