Fun with Granny

We made a trip to Williamsburg today to say goodbye to Granny Nanny, Grandpa Ben and Uncle Poogie before we leave for our Thanksgiving trip to Florida.  Bug was very excited because she knows she's always in for a good time at Granny's house!

Each time we come to visit, Granny gets down another toy from the attic that Poogie and I played with when we were little.  Todays toy selection was a train set and it was a big hit!

After the thrill of the new toy was gone, we headed to the playground to run around and work up an appetite for our yummy lasagna dinner!

By the end of our visit, all of that fun usually takes it toll on Buggy's piggy tails!
Happy Thanksgiving week!  Hope everyone feels as thankful as we do this year!

Coffee and Cartwheels

We made lemonade out of this yucky, rainy, day we had today.  Instead of staying cooped up in our cozy house (yet again!) we decided to socialize indoors with friends both before and after nap time.  First we met Caroline and her Mommy at Panera for lunch and girl talk, and this afternoon we met lots of ladies (and little ladies) at a place called Coffee and Cartwheels.  The mommies got a chance to visit and the kiddos had a ton of fun playing!

I think she had a good time!

Who's Cute?!

Bug was looking exceptionally fetching today in her fall dress and dress coat.  Thought it only right to share these pictures with the Grandparents!

P.S- I forgot to mention that Typhoid Buggy took down Da Ta with her last week, but poor Daddy hasn't recovered yet :(  At least he has a good snuggle buddy!

You Better Believe It!

Holy schnikes!  It's been gorgeous here lately, and you better believe we've been taking advantage of it!
Now that Bugs been on antibiotic* for a solid week, we've been having fun outside and playing with friends.

*even though we're about to start our THIRD bottle!  I'm pretty sure the pharmacist at CVS has me flagged as an Amoxicillin addict now!  Bottle number one lasted about 2 days because Buggy would waste so much by dramatically spitting it out each time!  And bottle number two Mommy spilled all over the kitchen floor, to which I responded, "Oh Nooo!" and you know Buggy was running around the house all afternoon yelling, "Oh Nooo!"  Guess it's a good thing I didn't say what I really felt like saying!

Not sure why, but she's decided to start crawling again...

 Silly girl!

Looking tough sitting on her stoop checking out the happenings.

Making the "Holly face".  Apparently I made this face a lot as a child.  Whatever, I think it's cute!

Sitting by her "balls".  Even though inside our home, it looks like Christmas threw up, I'm holding back until Thanksgiving to decorate the outside.  I don't want the neighbors to start talking!  But I need to make sure I get my cute Santa flag up before the lady down the street gets hers up.  We've started a "flag war" over who has the cutest house flags, and currently, I'm winning!

Playing music class with Granny Nanny and Robert (since we missed Musik Garten last Monday because we were all on our death beds.)

It's a good thing that her boyfriend shares her love of tower building!

One can only wish that we will stay this healthy all winter...

On the Up and Up

I'd say we're feeling better...

Considering this is what we've been doing for the past week...

With all our new energy we've been pretty busy!  While on the up and up, we've made a visit to Uncle Poogie's new apartment! He's representing by living on Fitzhugh Bacon Drive, the same apartment complex and street that I lived on after I graduated from MCV!  Buggy thought he had good taste and she approved of his new living quarters.

We've also made a trip to Granny Nanny's dental office for their annual Thanksgiving lunch!  Of course Bug was the center of attention and even more popular than the Thanksgiving turkey!
While she was there, she wanted to go for a ride in the dental chair!

And help Granny file some charts.

And like always, she had to see what new goodies Granny had for her in the Treasure Chest!

Then we went outside to play toss with Uncle Poogie and enjoy this AMAZING fall weather!

We've also been in the Christmas spirit around here!  We put up all our Christmas decorations and Bug loves running into the room and saying, "Twee! Twee!"  (Yes, I'm aware that it's not even Thanksgiving yet.  I'm a sucker for Christmas lights!)

The huge baby gate kind of takes away from the beauty of everything, but I'd say it's pretty necessary!

Now that we have our energy back, Buggy has been wanting to play nonstop!  Mommy is happy to have a little break from all that playing when Da Ta gets home!

Her new favorite activity is smushing her face against the window.  Very attractive!  And I've been spending a lot more time cleaning the windows!

So thankful to have us all healthy again!

No surprise here.

By now, it shouldn't be surprising when I tell you that we've all been sick since Wednesday night.
We've been laying low and spending lots of time indoors, in our jammies.
I certainly hope that this is not a taste of what's to come for the rest of the winter season!  (But deep down, I know we'll be sick every other week.)  This is just a disclaimer to all my local friends:  I have diagnosed myself with S.A.D (seasonal affective disorder).  When the weather starts to get unbearably cold, and we can't go outside to play, I get depressed!  So we need to have LOTS of play dates!  Now that I have a little outdoor loving nugget to take care of, I have a feeling that my S.A.D is going to reach a new level!  It really is so much easier to be a parent when the weather is nice, and all you have to do is go outside and blow bubbles or play catch with a ball.
However, the weather is absolutely gorgeous right now, but we're stuck inside fighting our colds.

Fixing Mommy some chicken soup in her kitchen.

Playing with all her "Melmo" dolls.

Dancing around in the kitchen, during a rare burst of energy, this weekend.

Helping Mommy devour the leftover Halloween candy.  Seriously, someone get that bowl out of here!

Trying to sneak some Goldfish (on the second shelf) before dinner, channelling her inner Ninja.

Enjoying some Goldfish and fruit before dinner (yes, Mommy broke down.)

Showing off her "Melmo Boo boo" on her finger.  She cut her finger and was bleeding pretty badly, so I made another attempt at putting a band-aid on her.  They usually last all of 5 seconds before she rips it off and puts it in her mouth.  But this boo boo was different.  This one had "Melmo" on it, and was very special.  She would point to her finger and say "Melmo Boo Boo" and walk around with her outstretched hand, carefully not allowing it to touch anything.

And then she ate it.

Hopefully next time, I'll be writing to tell you that we're all healthy and getting ready to play outside for hours! Hope you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep, and Happy Monday tomorrow! (My favorite day of the week!!)

P.S:  This photo is courtesy of Granny Nanny's cell phone. Taken during one of her many babysitting visits. Thanks Granny!
