The Good Stuff

Those closest to me know of my secret love for hardcore, gangster rap music!  The more swear words the better!  However, now that I am a responsible parent, I don't think it's such a great idea to expose Hailey to that type of music (although I'm sure that after 9 months of listening to Snoop Dog and P-Diddy in-utero she could probably hang with the best of them at the local Richmond night club!)  Now I only listen to it on my i-pod at the gym, and have recently come to love country music!  The more twang, jute box and truck, the better!  I'm not sure if it's my wonderful husband, or my perfect little girl, but lately, I can't seem to get through 3 country songs on the radio without crying...hysterically!  It's something about the way the songs  seem to capture what's really important in life.  Unlike rap music, where you can't even understand what they're saying, country music tells a story.  And most of the time it's about marriage and children and love.  The most recent song that brought on the water works was a song by Kenny Chesney called "The Good Stuff".  And it got me thinking about all the "good stuff" we have in our lives right now!  I will spare you the cheesiness of listing everything Doug and I have to be thankful for (and keep you from throwing up in your mouths a little bit) and instead just post a few pictures of Hailey from this afternoon, because our family is really the best of "the good stuff."

'Cus that's the good stuff.

  1. Ah...Holly and rap music, like PB & J! I have the same problem with Country music. I love that song too! Once you have kids you just can't help but think of them during some of those songs and they really get me. I love Martina McBride's "Daughter's Eyes", an oldie but a goodie!!

  2. Never knew you liked rap! I like some of it. I know my love of Eminem is legendary among former OKC-ers. Nobody would guess that when they pulled up next to the Moorerunner at a stoplight, would they? Does Buggy have any Laurie Berkner Band in her CD collection? She should!
