Adios Ida!

After a week of continuous rain, a flooded basement, a leaky roof, a new lake in our backyard, and way too much time indoors, we were so happy to say "Adios" to tropical storm Ida and hello to the beautiful sun today! We opened the windows, and spent most of the day outside! It's a good thing the weather has improved because Buggy, Douggie and I were beginning to run out of things to keep us entertained!

One of many new "ponds" that we acquired over the weekend. Hailey and I were contemplating building an ark just in case...

When I told the Bug that we couldn't go for our usual long walk outside and that we couldn't play on our blanket in the front yard, she was not a happy camper!

So I did the best I could to entertain my little outdoorsy girl...I parked her high chair in front of the window and she spent an hour just staring outside, longing to play in all those pretty leaves!

...that put a little smile on my sweet baby's face! I was almost tempted to put on our rain gear and let her play with her bath toys in the "pond"!

But instead we went upstairs and took a bath. What else is there to do on a rainy day besides spending your whole afternoon in the bath tub? Hailey certainly takes after her Granny Nanny in that respect. There is no place she would rather be than in her tub!

All that time indoors allowed for lots of time for hugs and kisses from Mommy!...

...and even more time to drool on Daddy!

Then we got nudie and rolled around on the floor! (Just Hailey, of course!) She loves kicking her legs and grabbing her toes without her diaper on!

We played with some toys....

...Buggy sucked on her fingers...what else is new?!

We went to Williamsburg and played with Uncle Poogie too!!

Buggy has found a new best buddy! I can tell those two are going to be T-R-O-U-B-L-E!! He's going to let her get away with everything!

She got to rock and sing Lulabyes with her Granny Nanny.

...and got lots of licks from the puppies! Can I get some hand sanitizer please?!

Phew! That was too much fun for one weekend! Now we're ready to spend the rest of the week soaking up this beautiful Virginia fall weather!

  1. She is getting to be such a big girl, and you can see her personality coming out in the pictures.

Glad the rain has gone away. Enjoy these nice fall temps before winter rolls in.
