What do you do when you realize that your kids have an unexpected 5 day weekend coming up in just a few days? You plan a ski trip of course!
The girls had never even held a pair of skis before, and they were flying solo down the slopes by the end of the first lesson, and tackling the blue slopes with Daddy (while Mommy covered my eyes and prayed) by the end of the second lesson! Caleb had a blast sledding, building snowman and playing with his trucks and dinosaurs on the sidelines with Mommy, while we watched his sisters shredding on the slopes. I was so proud of all of them!
It was spontaneous and hovered between a healthy balance of happy family memories and pure chaos (Hello?! Four kids = lots of snow gear!!), but we are all missing the mountains and pretty white snow already! I think there will be a lot more weekend ski trips in our future!
