Happy 6th Birthday Hailey!

Our little Hailey Grace isn't so little anymore.  I'm not sure how it happened, but she turned six this week and this birthday has been exceptionally hard for me.  My spirited little baby is now a sweet young girl.  She has her own opinions, makes her own decisions, and is just as smart as can be.  She never stops moving or thinking.  Her mind is always exploring and she wants to know everything about everything.  At six years old, she wants to be a scientist-artist-veterinarian.
Per her request, she wanted to have a "caterpillar birthday party" at their gymnastics gym "because it's fun and because they have a caterpillar bouncy house!"  All of her girlfriends were there and Lainey, Avery and Layla got to join in on the fun too!  They flipped, bounced, jumped and tumbled for an hour and then scarfed down pizza and caterpillar birthday cake.  We filled the place with caterpillar and frog balloons and Hailey passed out one of her favorite books as a party favor.  "Clara Caterpillar," a sweet book about a caterpillar that also teaches the value of true inner beauty.  After the party, we headed home for presents with the family (and mimosas for Mommy!)
On her actual birthday, Daddy went to school with her and was a Rainbow Parent for the morning.  Then we went to Barnes and Noble for a birthday treat and book and then  headed home to play with some of her new presents (most of which are either frog or science related!)  I think she had a pretty fantastic birthday, and I would be fine if she didn't have any more and just stayed six forever...

Party Time!

Present Time!

Leave it to Uncle Poogie to get Hailey and game about dog poop.

Happy Birthday Hailey!

On her actual birthday, Hailey decided to dress head to toe in "frogwear."  Daddy also went to school with her to be a Rainbow Parent.

Hailey picked out a book for her school library.  It's about a whale who wants to be an artist called, "Whale Shines."

A birthday treat from Barnes and Noble on her birthday.

The cookie was bigger than her head! (and she ate every bit of it!)

Of course, her little sisters had to have a treat too!

She picked out a nature journal for her birthday book from Mommy and Daddy.

Trying out her new presents!

She loves her real caterpillars from Grandma!

She's been checking on them every hour to see if they've turned into cocoons yet!

Working on her rock/gem dig from Layla.

Safety first!  We decided to take the rock dig outside with more stylish protective eyewear!

We've used the caterpillar sprinkler from Gigi every day with Kaitlyn since her birthday.

Even Avery had fun in the sprinkler!
