Playing Catch Up

All of us have been sick at least once during these past two weeks.  I'm just thankful that now I'm the only one sick, and more importantly, my girls are feeling better.  We've had Croup, colds, teething fevers, sinus infections and lots of runny noses.  Lainey also had her last laser treatment on her lip this week (Hooray!!)  I'm airing out the house now, washing the sheets and getting some soup ready for dinner.  Doug took the girls to Gigi and Babu's house for a sleepover, and while I had big plans to check lots of boxes on my ever growing "To-do" list, I can't seem to even muster up the energy to take a shower.  Being sick when you have to stay at home and take care of two crazy girls is no fun and this Mama is worn out.  I did find the energy to do a little camera dumping, so here is a quick recap from the last two weeks.

Poor Bug was sick on Valentine's Day, so she had to miss her class party.  Just so you have an idea of how big a deal this was, she's been talking about it since December, and had her class Valentine's ready almost a month early.  The little girls loves Valentine's Day (hugs, kisses, "I love yous", cards, candy.  This holiday was practically invented just for her!!) and she was majorly bummed.  So...Mommy and the grandparents may have gone a little overboard with the Valentine's Day treats to lift her spirits.

They always say, if you don't like the weather in Virginia, just wait a day.  That's been true lately!  We've had sunny 70 degree 'playground' days and snowy, rainy, sleetly 'stay inside in your jammies' days.  On one of the better days, Gigi and Babu came to visit for Babu's birthday.  We drove by our new house (we certainly must seem like stalkers to the people living there because we must drive by it at least five times a week!) and then we hit up our church playground for some playtime and fresh air.  Hailey is super excited that her favorite "bumpy" slide is going to be walking distance from her new house!  If only we could move in now.  These next two months are going to be torture!!!

Checking out their loot on Valentine's Day morning.

Hailey had her own heart cake, and we made pink cupcakes!

Modeling her new Snow White costume.  She's a pro at reenacting the poisonous apple scene!

Watching the snow come down with Mommy on a lazy jammie day.

Bundled up for some outside playtime with Daddy.

Making valentine's with Gigi.

She always has a smile on her face when Gigi and Babu are around.  (That's because they are always doing something either loud, wild or messy!)

Showing off her skills on the "bumpy slide!"

We Found a House!

The most exciting news of this week is that we signed a contract on a house!  After an exhausting few months of house hunting, we found the perfect one!  We love that we can walk to church, the playground and a great pool is right across the street!  It has 6 bedrooms and is gorgeous inside.  We're really looking forward to this new chapter in our lives and hope that this will be our home for many years to come.  We're still giddy with excitement and counting down the days until April 25th when we move in!  (See the end of this post for some "teaser pics!")  Now all we can do is pray for a smooth closing.

As if that isn't exciting enough, we also had a fantastic week with our friends and family.  The girls had a great time at our friend Jasper's birthday party and we had fun dressing up and spending time with friends at a fun super bowl party.  Hailey and Robert had an exceptionally good time dancing to Beyonce's halftime show!  (See pictures below!)  We made a few trips to Williamsburg to relax and go out to dinner and just enjoyed another exciting week with our fun and crazy girls!

The girls spent most of the night playing with the slot machine!

Lainey and Ella loved playing at the party.

Lunch at Olive Garden with Robert after church.

Lainey has been all about going "ni-night."  Anytime she sees something soft, she immediately falls to the ground and says "NI NIGHT!"  It's so cute, but she could also be mistaken for a narcoleptic!!!
