Enjoying the Journey

I feel like I talk about "our very busy week" just about every week now.  I wonder when I'm going to get stop denying it and just accept the fact that every week is going to be busy, because our lives are busy!  With a 3 year old and a 10 month old, there's never a dull moment, nor is there ever a moment where I'm not moving, playing, or chauffeuring!  After preschool today, I decided to brave a trip to Kroger to buy groceries for dinner (because if I don't prepare 95% of dinner during nap time, then Doug is going to have to order take-out that night!)  Both girls were tired and hungry, which means one was screaming and one was being 100% donkey!  An older man came up to me and I could have sworn that he was going to scold me (since the other shoppers certainly weren't hiding their judging glares and eye rolling!), but instead he whispers in my ear, "I bet you're exhausted, but it's worth it, and it goes by way too quickly.  Enjoy every moment.  Even this one!"  Well bless that man's heart.  He just about brought me to tears right there in the baking aisle!  Then I was quickly shocked back to reality as Bug pulled down an entire display of bread crumbs and Lulu ate my shopping list before I was done shopping!  We're busy alright, but I'm going to take the advice from my "Kroger Angel in Disguise" and enjoy every noisy, tiring, sticky (and sometime stinky!) minute of this amazing journey that we're on!

Here are a few Kinard candids from our busy week!  Enjoy!

Showing off her new haircut.  I must say, I'm pretty impressed with my haircutting skills!

She's a natural!

Lulu has SIX teeth now!

In other Lulu news, she's also become very active!  Don't get me wrong, she's still our "nugget" and prefers to just sit still and eat.  But, she has been making some advancements in the crawling department.  But she mostly just rolls around to get where she needs to go!

Working on her crawling skills.

She loves rolling under the train table!  Bug thinks it's very funny when she does that!

Showing off her "baaaad boo boo!"  Bug fell down in the driveway when she was pushing her truck around and got her first bloody nose and fat lip.  For some reason, she was very proud of her battle wounds!

Daddy and "Big Blue" on his last day.  I still can't believe that he got $1200 for a 1998 Civic with NO air conditioning!  That's why we're a "Honda family!"  They're great cars, last forever and apparently hold their value!

Bye-bye Blue.  RIP (ride in peace!) 1998-2012.

Buggy and Blanche.  Bug loves her "really big tires!"

I know it's wrong.  But she has the funniest "poop face!"  I get to giggling every time she does her business!

Of course she has to see what she made!  And so does anyone else who is lucky enough to be around!

Lulu loves riding on Daddy's shoulders!

Daddy in serious People playing mode.

Lulu loves it when Bug "lets" her play Little Peoples!

Playing nicely together.

I went out for one girls night with my friends, and Daddy let Bug spend the night nude, using her potty chair for a hat.  Typical!

Giving Daddy a time-out.  For some reason, Bug thinks that she has to take off ALL of her clothes when she goes potty!  But it's easy to tell when she's gone!

Bug has been having some serious attachment issues lately.  Here she is trying to "hide" in her backpack before preschool.
We attempted swim lessons this week.  It was more like Swimming Bootcamp!  Bug screamed the whole time, ripped my shirt on the second day clinging to me and I spent the entire lesson waiting for her in my car, crying!  I watched from the window as they dunked her (over and over again!) and as she screamed and choked on water and that was enough for me!  Once she started having nightmares about it, we pulled the plug and withdrew her.  Poor sweet girl.  She can learn to swim at Grandma and Grandpa's and at the Upper County Pool with Gigi and Babu!  It was NOT worth it!

Posing with her annual to plant in the preschool garden.  She's very excited about watering her plant and watching it grow at school!

It was school spirit week this week.  Bug's classroom color is purple, so she wore purple to school and all the kids marched around preschool and preformed a parade.  Then they got to have a popsicle!

Picking all the stickers off the flag she made to wave in the parade.

It was also her very last Big Day!  :(   How is school almost over already!  I'm still trying to prepare myself for her to be gone 4 days a week next year!

"Please come in!"

She always has to show me something she was playing with that day when Lulu and I come to pick her up.  Today, it was the cowboy hats!

Everyone had to try one on!

I love it when Lulu smiles like this!

And I love it when Bug laughs like this!

And I love my girls.  Always.

Could It Be?

Could it be?  Does my child really look a little like me?  After having a mini-Doug for 3 years, I'm a little excited to say that Lulu is starting to look like Mommy!  At least for now.  Who knew those Kinard genes would be so strong!  There's still time for  her to morph into Doug!  Here are a few baby pictures of me when I was Lulu's age.

The Girls' Weekend Woodland Retreat!

I'm not sure what we would do without the help of my parents (aka "Gigi" and "Babu"-names that Buggy made up on her own when she was just a baby).  The girls just love it there and Doug and I love having the free babysitting and "break" every now and then so we can enjoy dinner with each other (yesterday was our 11 year "dating" anniversary!) and time with friends.  It's amazing having them close by and we certainly appreciate them.  Here are a few pictures from the last sleepover the girls had in the woods!  Thanks for the help Gigi and Babu and for loving our girls just as much as we do!
