Yes, They're Sisters. But...

Yes, they're sisters.  But so far, it appears that they are going to be polar opposites!

My Buggy.  My sweet, tender hearted, super sensitive, intense and oh yes, SPIRITED little Buggy.

She is one picky eater and will be the one to spit out her muffin if she actually tastes the blueberry in it.  Or spit out her pizza if, gasp!, a vegetable ended up on it by accident.  Her milk must be "really cold" at all times, her hotdog must be cut in circles and served at room temperature (yum!), and nothing can ever be touching on her plate...ever!  She has to have 3 pieces of cheese and it has to be in the proper Kroger brand bag.  I even save the empty bags just in case, for some reason I can't find the specific cheese, hotdog or any of the other 5 things she eats, so I can fill them with forbidden brands.  Dinner is exhausting and always ends in a bribe of some sort.

She loves routine, and gets very upset if her dinner/bath/bedtime routine gets disrupted.  Three stories must be read each night, in the proper reading chair, for example.

She hates to be uncomfortable, and will take off her shoes, shirt, pants, you name it, if something is rubbing her the wrong way, or wet, or too small...but she is obsessed with dressing up in Princess costumes and must have on a tutu at least once, each day.  Go figure!

It is quite clear that her little sister has rocked her world, and she does not like sharing the spotlight (or her toys) with "Wainey."  She will now tell me that she's going to "hurt Wainey.  Make her cry.  Then get a time out."  Poor thing is starving for attention, even though she gets 90% of my attention 24/7.

She is quite intense, yes.  However, all of these personality traits are what make Bug, Bug.  And we wouldn't change a single thing about her (well, maybe her eating habits!).  She is such a sweet little girl and is always concerned as to whether of not "Mommy's happy?  Mommy so proud of you (she means "me")?  She loves her friends and family and always tells me that she's going to give them a "biiiiig huuug!"  She shares her toys so well with her friends and is the perfect hostess on playdates, ensuring that everyone always has a toy, and is happy.  If someone around her is crying, she will either cry too, or offer them something to cheer them up (even if it's some of her snotty, soggy goldfish!)

One thing is for sure, Buggy always marches to the beat of her own drum!  You spend 10 minutes around our Hailey and you will fall in love with her and be highly entertained (and sometimes shocked!) all at the same time!

The love that I have for this little girl is immeasurable and indescribable. She is amazing.

"Cheese!"

Water table fun.  Perhaps it's time to get her a baby pool...

She didn't like that her bathing suit was getting wet...even though she was playing in her water table, and it was 80 degrees out.

Here she is cleaning off her feet, because the grass was "too durty."  After this picture, she asked me if I would bring her water table inside so she can play with it there.

Making Wainey silly.

She dressed herself...Princess dress and tutu.  Shocker!

She made her own mud puddle with her watering can.  And then sat in it.  With her clothes on.

It's baaaaack!  Two rainy days trapped inside and the trampoline has made a reappearance!  We needed an outlet for all that energy!

She wasn't even on it 60 seconds and I was already second guessing the decision!

Gigi and Babu came over for a babysitting sleepover.  Apparently they were giving a little too much attention to Lainey, because Bug felt the need to take off all of her clothes and jump on the tramp.

Well, it certainly got their attention!  Mission accomplished!

Looking at pictures of herself on Babu's phone.  He plays "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Jesus Loves Me" on repeat and they look at "Haywee pictures."

Tea party with Babu.  Apparently, clothing was optional.

One of the great things about this house is it's fabulous yard.  One of the bad things about this house is that it takes almost 2 hours to mow!  Babu felt a little bad for Daddy and decided to help out mid mow.  Bug was fascinated.

She is also fascinated with Gigi's "Big new white car.  With a tv!"

Little Doug.

She is worth every bit of frustration/patience/exhaustion.  Love her.

Then there's Lulu.  I love me some Lulu!  Yes, I realize that she is only 9 months old, and hasn't had time to drive me crazy yet, but God couldn't make 'em any easier than Lulu.  Even her birth was about as straightforward and easy as they come.  Her big sister's birth involved an hour drive to the hospital, hours of painful labor (she did not want to come out!), stitches, pulled baby neck muscles, broken molars and buckets of  KFC chicken, all in a crowded, noisy delivery room.  Lulu came gliding out (seriously!  I had to hold her in until the doctor got there!), into a tranquil birthing suite.  If that doesn't tell you much about their personalities, I don't know what will!

Boy can this baby eat!  She only has two teeth and already eats more than I do!  Here is a sample meal menu:
Breakfast:  Nutrigrain bar, blueberries and strawberries
Snack:  bottle, yogurt, cheerios
Lunch:  bottle, jar of beef with vegetables, banana
Snack:  bottle, goldfish, fruit
Dinner:  bottle, bowl of ravioli, 2 chicken nuggets, cheese cubes, pudding cup
I would be lucky if Buggy consumed that much food in an entire week.  I swear Lulu has a hollow leg, because I don't know where all that food is going!

She is such a "go with the flow" baby.  Poor thing spends most of her day either eating (usually unsupervised) in her highchair, dangling in one of her many bouncers/jumpers, laying in her crib, or sitting on the ground, surrounded by crappy toys that her sister has "allowed" her to play with.  And she's usually just fine with that.  Which could be why she's still not crawling yet (and I'm in NO hurry for that to happen!)  The sad truth is that at least once a day, I will briefly forget where I left her because she's so quiet, and Buggy keeps me so busy!
Everyone comments on how happy and smiley Lulu is.  All you have to do is look at her and she'll smile.  Her big sister and peek-a-boo both make her laugh hysterically and she certainly loves her Mama :)  In fact, I'm convinced that when she says "mama" she's saying it to me!
Lainey is the type of baby that makes you want to have more babies!

Did I mention that she's a happy baby?!

Clapping and laughing at her big sis.

Feeling very cool to be playing in Buggy's room.  This is usually not allowed!

So happy to be playing with her sister's cast off toys, in her sister's cast off jammies.

She still certainly prefers Mommy's lap to just about anybody else, but if you feed her, she will quickly warm up to you!

So far, she seems to resemble both Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy's little lady.

Patty-cake with big sis quickly turned into hair pulling, which quickly turned into the end of our photo session!

They may not have the same temperament (so far...) but there's no doubt that they love each other.  And heaven knows I love them.  With all my heart and soul.

For a mother is the only person on earth
Who can divide her love among ten children
And each child still have all her love.

There's No Denying It!

There's no denying it.  We are blessed with two adorable girls, and they have us wrapped around their little fingers!  Happy Spring!

Lulu's 9 Month Stats

Lulu had her 9 month checkup today and her stats were impressive!  She's catching up to her big sis and now weighs 19 pounds!  To quote the doctor, "She looks like she's a good eater!" and "I'm not concerned that she's not crawling or pulling up yet.  She's a very strong girl!  She's just a laid back, content and happy baby!"  (She also said that she thinks Lulu is my twin.  I had to control my urge to hug her and kiss her on the mouth!)  That about sums up our little Lulu in a nutshell!  The fact that she's wearing jammies that Bug wore last year should be a good sign that she's thriving just fine!  The rest of our day involved a trip to "Gigi's work" because Mommy had a dentist appointment, a trip to McDonalds, where Lainey ate more than Hailey did, a trip to the grocery store and a relaxing evening playing outside and planting some spring flowers.

Lulu, 9 months old.  19lbs and 27inches.

Our strong, happy, content, good eater!!

All dressed up and ready for a busy day!

Lulu, still loving her big sister.  Even after a large red mark mysteriously appeared on her cheek while I was out of the room and they were alone together!

My attempt at a cute bunny ears picture did not turn out as planned.

Bug, very proud of her bike riding skills!

Lulu was equally impressed!

Buggy shares her Mommy's lack of enthusiasm for gardening!

It's going to be a great spring with my two spring chickens!

I Can See!!

I can see clearly now!  My Lasik is done and my vision is great (but boy do I not like seeing myself so clearly first thing in the morning!!!)  And what better timing to have it done and over with than right before an Elton John concert?!  I'm so thankful that Gigi was able to come with me and help he watch the girls since Doug was out of town, and also so thankful that we have a great babysitter, Miss Bridgett, to help out with the girls too!  I'm also thankful for a successful surgery and a very helpful and loving husband!  After a pretty uncomfortable and foggy few days, I'm now feeling and seeing great, and I have visions of a very sparkly green Elton John dancing in my head!  I'm even more convinced that Doug and I are made for each other, because we both agree that this was the best concert we've ever been too!

"I'm so happy that Mommy got Lasik so she doesn't have to wear her glasses anymore!  They scared me!"

Pre-op eye cleansing.
Post-op super sweet sunglasses!

Post-op eye resting.

Buggy likes playing with Mommy's "bug eyes!"

Bug's big day was Friday.  Mommy, Daddy and Lainey were all in attendance!

"Please come in!"

Showing Daddy her classroom.  (Mommy vaguely remembers being there!  I was still a little loopy from all the meds!)

Bug was supposed to be examining Daddy's eyes, like Mommy.  But somehow, his nose became her main focus.  To quote her exactly, "Daddy gots wots of boogies!"

"Biiiig boogies!"

Daddy won the husband of the year award this weekend.  He took care of the girls once Gigi and Miss Bridgett left and let me rest.  He took Bug to the park, went grocery shopping and grilled up a mean steak for dinner!

Enjoying dinner on the deck while watching Daddy grill out.

Lulu enjoyed her brownie for dessert!  Let's be honest.  What doesn't this girl enjoy eating?!!

Bug enjoyed picking the flowers off our bush and throwing them on the ground.  Our once beautiful flower covered bush is now sadly barren.

The Grill master!

A post dinner swing in the hammock!

Daddy and his little buddy.

Enjoying a bath time tea party.

Yes, they are actually drinking bath water!

Daddy certainly enjoyed it!

Watching Max and Ruby in the Man Cave before bed.

Bug and Lulu were very excited for Mommy and Daddy because we went to see Elton John in concert on St. Patrick's Day!  Bug was playing a little "Crocodile Rock" for Lulu.

There he is, in all his sparkly splendor.  Is it strange that I've developed a major crush on Sir Elton?!  Hands down the best concert...EVER!

Bug and Lulu couldn't help but channel their inner Elton John after hearing about our great time at the concert!

Tiny Dancer.

It's going to be pretty tough trying to top the fantastic weekend we had!
