A Sick and Busy Week

Seriously.  When are we NOT sick in this house?  First it was Bug.  Now, if it isn't obvious from the picture below, it's Lulu (and Mommy's) turn.

This blog post is long overdue because, well, I've had more important things/people to take care of!  Even with all the runny noses, fevers and "boo boo heads", it's been a very fun and exciting week!

At the top of the list are the girls preschool acceptance letters!  Buggy will be going 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday and Lulu will be going 1 day a week on Wednesday.  Even though I'm not completely ready to give up my sweet toddler for 4 days a week, I know that she loves it and I'll still have the afternoons to love on her.  In fact, she cried today when we pulled into the parking lot to drop off the checks and I told her she didn't have preschool!  And while I don't expect them to teach Lulu her ABC's and 123's, I will love the morning to myself, once a week, to listen to what I want to listen to on the radio in Pearl, and watch what I want to watch on TV and get a pedicure and go to Kroger without having to push around the ginormous minivan of shopping carts...!  That will be MY time.  But let's face it.  I'm sure I'll use it to fold laundry and run other boring errands.  But one can dream, right?

In other exciting news, Lulu has teeth!  Two of them, and from the looks of it, she'll be getting another one in the next few days!  Buggy is fascinated with them and always wants to touch them (with clean hands obviously!) Lulu loves using her new chompers too!  Her favorite foods are cheese, cheerios, bananas, eggs and peas.  And her favorite baby food is still vegetable beef!  Must be the Midwestern roots showing through!  This girl loves her some beef!

At the beginning of the week, while Bug was sick, we spent the day at Gigi and Babu's.  It was raining that day, so we made sure to get our puddle jumping in! We spent the next few days, snuggling at home and playing.  The weather has been amazing, upper 60's and we've really been enjoying our fabulous, fully fenced in back yard!  Bug loves to bring out all of her toys onto the deck and calls it her "house".  Not to mention, our long paved driveway makes a great racetrack for the Cozy Coupe and wagon!  It's also been great grilling weather, and that means steak dinners for Mommy and Daddy!

Then it was Lulu and Mommy's turn to get sick.  Just in time for our first music class.  Lainey is doing the same baby music class that Buggy did when she was her age, and we have the same fabulous teacher, Miss Ashley.  Her little boy is in Hailey's class and is one of her best buds!  Even though we were feeling sick, and our singing voices were certainly not the greatest, we both had a great time, and I know Lulu is going to love it once she's feeling better.

Over the weekend, Buggy had a birthday party to go to and had a great time singing "Happy Birthday" and of course, eating cupcakes.  Daddy stayed at home and was on sick duty.

Today, Monday, we spent the day resting and and playing outside while Bug showed off her new light up princess shoes.  They have to be the ugliest shoes I've ever seen, but she loves them, and I love that!  Tomorrow, Lulu and I have big plans to go to the doctor while Bug is in Little Scientists class.  Hopefully, we'll all be feeling better soon.  Taking care of these two when we're healthy is tiring enough!  Add colds to the mix and you've got one exhausted Mama!

I'm Still Not Laughing

Well.  Add Kroger to our ever expanding list of, "Do not come back/too embarrassed to show our faces again" places.  It was shaping up to be a great Friday.  We slept in (sort of-7:45am), dropped Bug off on the pweschool playground at 9am, Lulu and I hit up the Bub (Kids Club at Golds), we came home and showered and picked up Bug at 11:45am.  Which has become a task in itself.  We can't leave pweschool without Buggy throwing a mini-tantrum, demanding that she gets to stay and play for "5 more mimits!!"  After an exhausting pick-up, we headed to Kroger to pick up the ingredients for some chicken noodle soup We're all sick with nasty winter colds and are fixen for some comfort food!  Carrying sweet Lulu around lately has been like carrying a 17 pound piece of fly paper.  She grabs on to everything and anything she can get those drooly little fingers around!  That includes 7 foot Special K displays in the middle of our local grocery store.  Yep.  I felt a little tug, heard a loud crash, looked over to Buggy, who had a shocked, "I didn't do it" look on her face, and then looked down at Lulu in the baby Bjorn, with part of the Special K display in her chubby hand.  I'm pretty certain this was someone's sick way of telling me that I had too much junk food in our shopping cart and should probably replace the icecream with some Special K.  Fortunately, we frequent there so much, that we practically know every employee there by name and they just laughed at us.  I wasn't laughing.
So, off we went, to get the other ingredients for our soup.  One of which was a rotisserie chicken.  Out of the blue, Buggy decided she wants to start screaming, "Stinky chicken!  Smells!  Smells like Mommy's poops!  SMELL MOMMY'S POOPS!!"  She continued to yell this as we strolled up and down the aisles while we finished our shopping, and as we were checking out, and as the bagger was loading the said "stinky poop chicken" into Pearl.  Of course the bagger was laughing.  I still wasn't laughing...Ok.  Maybe just a little bit!  I can't take these two anywhere!

Laughing at her big sister while she's doing her "make Wainey silly dance."

"I didn't do it!"

Loving her first nutty buddy!

Look who's sitting up in her bathtub!
