Memorial Day Memories

It just wouldn't be Memorial Day without swimming and a cookout!  Here are some pictures from our fantastic day!

Hailey playing outside in her backyard "playland."

Since it was 90 degrees out today, we decided to give her pool another try.  As you can see, she was not too thrilled about the idea at first.

But I bribed her with some cookies and juice and she eventually calmed down and started to have fun.

When we finally pulled her out of her pool, her fingers and toes were all pruney!

We worked up an appetite from all that swimming, so Daddy grilled out and made some of his delicious shish kabobs!

We ended the evening with a little Baby Einstein.

Standing on her tippy toes, just like her Daddy.  Showing off her "cankles", just like her Mommy!

Finally, it was time to head upstairs to bed.  She's now a pro at climbing the stairs!  Especially when Daddy is waiting at the top.
What a great way to kick off the summer!  Happy Memorial Day!

If You Don't Like America...

As Hailey's Uncle Poogie would say (with his strongest redneck accent), "If you don't like America, you can get out!"  We sure are proud of our Navy Officer in this house, and we're darn proud of America!  Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!  Enjoy the pictures of our little patriot!

"What am I supposed to do with these things?"

(Drunken Sailor!)

So over Mommy trying to get her to smile in her Daddy's navy "cover".

Daddy's Mini-Me.
We're so thankful for all our troops and especially those who have given thier lives for our freedom.    Happy Memorial Day!  U.S.A!  U.S.A!  U.S.A!

Chillin'

I think it's safe to say that we have one happy, relaxed, "chill" baby!
Here she is chillin' with Daddy on the computer.

Chillin' on her main stoop.  She could stand here all day checking out the other babies and protecting her "crib".  It was hot today, so we tried to think of ways where she could "chill" while also being "chilly" and cool (which is also why she's chillin' in her diap today!)

Next we played in the chilly fridge.  She tried to pull a fast one on me and crawl away with a Diet Coke, but no ma'am.  That's not allowed!

Give this baby an icecube and she'll be entertained for at least 10 minutes (or until it melts!)  She pushed her cube all over the kitchen floor until it was gleaming!  I was contemplating squirting a little soap on the floor and strapping a sponge to her butt...multi-tasking people!

Chillin' with Pops, eating spaghetti and having a yelling contest.  (It was a tie.  They both have equally big mouths!)

Chillin' in her swing.

Feeling very relaxed.

Maybe a little too relaxed!  After a few minutes in this thing, and she's practically unconscious!
Yep.  Buggy is one chill baby.  (Thank goodness for that!)  And boy do we love her to pieces!

Reunited

After what seems like the longest 3 weeks ever, Buggy and Robert were finally reuntited for a romantic lunch date (with Mommies in tow).  It's amazing how much they've grown in just a few short weeks!  They really seemed to enjoy eachothers company today, and had a blast making faces and babbling to eachother.

Comfort Food

Since Daddy had to leave tonight on another work trip, we tried very hard to make today a good day for Buggy.  Us girls really miss our guy when he's gone, and only Daddy can make Hailey smile like this!

To make today extra fun, we let Hailey dress up super cute for the church nursery (she's the only girl in there!) and then for lunch we went out for icecream!

Daddy made sure to read a few extra stories to her before he left.

But eventually we had to say goodbye, and decided to drown our sorrows in some leftover birthday cake!  I'm not sure what's more shocking...the fact that there is still uneaten cake remaining in our house, or that I let my daughter get this messy (again)!

So far, we've had icecream for lunch, cake for dinner (don't worry Granny Nanny, she also had chicken and vegetables!), and now it's time for a bubble bath!  She wasn't too sure of what these things were in her bathtub at first...

...but she quickly learned how fun they were!  This is her right after she dunked her head under the water!  And no, I didn't put those bubbles on her head!  That's all her!

So for the next 2 days, we are going to try to stay busy and not think about how much we miss our guy, and before we know it, Buggy will be smiling like this again!
We love you Daddy!  Mwah!
