Our Monkey!

We were so excited today to hear Hailey make her first real baby noises! She sounds like a little monkey when she makes them and it's music to our ears! Here's the little monkey with her daddy (and favorite person in the whole wide world!)

Another exciting event was the changing of Hailey's last tiny newborn diaper! Hailey was very excited to graduate to the size "1" Pampers, but mommy was a little depressed :(

Daddy's shoulder is the perfect place to put a puddle of drool....

A little tummy time on her new lily-pad...

Mommy might have gone a little overboard with the toys at Babies 'R Us yesterday. We already know she's going to be spoiled, so we might as well start early!

Here's our big girl holding her first rattle!

...but her fist is much more entertaining (and tasty!)

...but even her yummy hand can't keep her from watching a little t.v! Afterall, she is her mother's daughter!

Chef Boyar-Hailey!

At first, when I told Hailey we would be baking a lasagna, she had the same reaction I get when I think about cooking...she was not happy!

But, then I told her she wouldn't really be cooking, just watching and vibrating in her boppy, and then her mood quickly changed!

At least I had cute company while I was slaving away in the kitchen! She's the only thing that could get me through cooking anything (that doesn't involve using the microwave!)

Next, it was time to set the table and wait for Daddy to get home!

Hailey still lights up when she sees the man in her life!

Fortunately, my lasagna was actually edible, and no one has gotten sick...yet....

Elmo!

I had to break down and get Hailey her first Elmo! (the first of many, I'm sure! He's just so darn cute!) He sings the alphabet, and Hailey LOVES him!

Friday...

Today was a pretty uneventful day...no falls down the stairs, no shots in the leg for Hail-Bug, not even a bout of fussing or crying (from either of us!) Just a rainy Friday full of playtime and a few wardrobe changes!

...some sweet little girl smiles in her swing...

...and some more in her Bumbo...

...an explosive diaper on her new outfit, and then some tummy time...

...a little bit of thumb sucking...

...a little bit more...

...ANOTHER explosive diaper and wardrobe change...and then Daddy came home early from work today!!!
Hailey likes to try to copy the funny faces he makes...

...first a pouty face...

...then a happy face...

...next a scared face...

...and finally a giggle...

...and then, it was clearly time for bed!
How is it that she's still adorable, even when she's crying?! All in all, it was a great day, and I'm loving every minute of mommy-hood!

Boppys, Bumbos, Swings, Oh My!

After Hail-Bug and I took a traumatic tumble down our wooden stairs yesterday, I have felt the need to give her all of my attention and even more hugs and kisses today. Fortunately, Hailey is ok (I just held her above my head while Mommy took all the bumps and bruises), but I still feel guilty. We have managed to bring out every toy she owns (and can actually play with) and it isn't even lunch time yet!

Our blue-eyed girl loves her baby Bumbo seat!

Our future philosopher pondering a very deep and intellectual question...

We had a puppet show with all of her teddy bears while Hailey watched from her Bumbo....she requested an encore!

Next we did some tummy time...

She's getting very good at pusing her head up into downward facing dog pose (she'll be doing yoga with mommy soon!)

We tried some more tummy time on her Boppy, but as you can see, I couldn't get her to stop looking at her own hand (hence the crazy cross-eyes!) so that didn't last too long.

"What 'choo talkin 'bout Willis?!"

No playtime is complete without a little Baby Einstein.

...and we finished the morning off with some fun in her swing before naptime. (which came about 30 minutes earlier than usual...I guess I wore her out! But we had fun!!)
